Chloe

It was 5;00pm on the dot and I have just arrived at Jaden's house. I never been to Jaden's house before not even for one of his famous parties. For starters I don't do parties, they are just not my thing. He had a huge house the biggest house I have ever seen. I took a deep breath and knocked on his door. I played with my fingers as I waited for the door to open. I hope his parents don't open the door or it would be more awkward. Then the door flies open and I see Jaden resting on the wall.  We stayed in utterly silence for a bit till he spoke.

"Why are you standing there come in" Jaden moves to the side so I can enter inside.

I walked in and wiped my feet on the carpet. The house is more beautiful inside. There was no one there and the house was extremely quite clean. His house had everything a huge TV, an amazing pool outside and lots of big area.

"Where are your parents?" I asked but he ignored my question and went up the long huge glass staircase to an other hall, I followed him. We entered the first room on his left. It is was his bedroom. He jumped on his bed and grabbed his phone. I quickly looked around his room and sat down on a black cushioned stool chair. I took out my neatly filed files with colourful sticky notes on them.

"You know I could have done the project myself for the two of us" I turn my back facing Jaden.

"I know but this is a partner project and you doing it alone defeats the whole purpose of partnership" Jaden runs his hands through his soft dark charcoal black hair.

"Well that what most people do" I say turning back to his desk.

Jaden didn't say anything. I opened my files as he gets off his bed and pulled one of his chairs next to me. His eyes dart to my notes. "Do you have OCD or something?"

"No, Jaden. Not everyone's crazy because they just like things a certain way. There's nothing wrong with being organized" I replied.

He laughs, of course. I refuse to look at him, but out of the corner of my eye, I can see him sitting down next to me being a few inches away from me. He grabs my notes and turns them over a couple of times exaggeratedly like he's staring at a rare artefact. I reach up for them"give the back"

He lifts them higher, so I stand up and swipe them out of his hands. But then he grabs them again and tosses them in the air and fall to the ground in a scattered mess.

"Pick those up!" I demand.

He smirks and says, "Ok, ok" but he just grabs more of my notes and does the same thing to them. I scramble to pick them up before he steps on them, but that's only funny to him.

"Jaden, stop!" I yell, just as he does the same with the next stack. Infuriated, I stand up and slap his arm repeating his name. "Jaden"

"You're a feisty one aren't you" Jaden laughs at me and I just roll my eyes.

"You mean, someone doesn't like their stuff being messed with?" he asks, still laughing.

"No! I don't!" I yell and go to slap his arm again. He steps toward me and crunches down.

"So now you are picking them up" I snap.

"Yeah" he laughed again.

"Why did you even do that the first place?" I asked as we finished grabbing my notes. Now I have to rearrange and organize them again. Thanks Jaden.

"It's fun" Jaden responded as I rolled my eyes at him.

We sat back down back to our seats and flicked through my pages. A few minutes have passed of us finally working in silence.

"Can I ask you a question?" Jaden breaks the silence.

The look on his face tells me I should say no but I sill say yes. "Sure"

"What do you want to do after high school?"

I look up at him with new eyes. That is literally the last thing I thought he would ask.

"Well I would like to go to collage of course, to become an author" I shouldn't have been honest with him, he will just make fun of me but when he doesn't say anything back, I started feeling brave and ask him the same question, earning an eye roll from him but no answer. I looked back to my papers and I looked up around his room. There where books all around his room. There where some on his bed side table, in shelves, on chairs even on the floor.

"Are those your books?" finally I ask, even though it's probably futile.

"They are" Jaden mumbles. Wow I didn't know a guy like him would be interested in reading books. I didn't know he could read let alone reading some great iconic books like To Kill A Mocking Bird, The Great Gatsby and Pride and Prejudice. I spot the books in the room.

"Which is your favourite?"

"I don't play favourite"

"You must have a favourite book that you read over and over again"

"Well then what's yours?" he changed the subject.

"Romeo and Juliet" I smiled proudly with my answer.

"Of course it is"

"what's that suppose to mean?" I can't deal with him. I have known him for 30 minutes and he has already been the rudest and most annoying person I know. Even though we had some decent conversations.

"Two people madly in love. Every girl loves that" he explained.

"It's not just about two people falling for each other. It deals with universal themes. Rather than in spite of, its sad ending. It's this tragic aspect of the eponymous characters' love that makes it such a powerful story. Romeo and Juliet belong to powerful, warring families who've been involved in a long and bitter feud since time immemorial. They are not allowed to meet, let alone get married. In those days, marriages between aristocratic families were arranged. Love didn't enter into the equation at all; such marriages were strategic political alliances, nothing more. Despite these restrictions, the two young love-birds" I jumped in.

"Ok ok I get it now, remind me to never argue with you about books" Jaden smirked.

I sighed and continued writing on my piece of paper. A few hours passed and it was time for me to go back home. I pack my stuff in my bag and Jaden walked me outside of his house.

"Same time tomorrow" Jaden shouts.

I already started walking to my car. It's a red Hyundai Crete. I turn around and yell. "Sure"

I open my car door and hopped in my car. I turn on my car as I see Jaden closing his front door. I started driving slowly to my house. In about 15 minutes I arrived home.
