„old friends"

Grief is hard to handle, and Hanako knows that all too well. It's horrible that your mind denies that the person is gone, which makes you constantly remind yourself that they're never coming back.

She had to experience that grief alone, having all her family members and clan dead in one day.

"Hanako, once you regain more of your memories back, I want you to report it to me immediately.", Hanako remembers Tsunade telling her.

It was like her brain was blocking the memories out to protect her from experiencing the grief all over again.

This sucks.

Hanako is practicing as usual at the training grounds. Tsunade was busy to be physically present so she just continued with what her mentor has instructed her to do.

She focuses on her chakra, breathing in and out, feeling it circulating around her body. Sweat forms on her forehead making it drip down her face. However, this doesn't make Hanako stop from controlling it. She was getting the hang of it even if it's still hard to do chakra control.

She continues to lead it to her fists and maintains it.

I got it.

Hanako raises her fist and punches the ground beneath her resulting it to break in half. She smiles at this and feels her adrenaline rushing through her veins.

"This feels good!", she shouts with excitement.

Now I just need to control my chakra faster. If I go that slow, I'd be dead already.

This training went on for days, and before she knows it, a week has already passed.

"Good, your form is better. You've also worked on your taijutsu I'm impressed.", Tsunade says as she watches the girl show off the skills she improved, "Now, show me your ninjutsu."

Hanako sighs sadly, she mastered ninjutsu back with her father. He trained her to the bone and it honestly scarred the child. Back when Tsunade wasn't with her, she attempted to practice the ninjutsu that her father taught her.

And it didn't turn out well.

The water that she released were tiny, and it devastated the girl.

"Actually, my ninjutsu still sucks.", she tells her master honestly.

"Well then, let's review the basics, hand signs.", the girl looks at Tsunade with a confused face.

What the fuck are hand signs? Is that a warm-up?

"E-eto, hand signs?"

"Yes, you don't use hand signs?", this discovery made Tsunade very intrigued with the girl.

So the Shinozaki clan doesn't teach hand signs.

Tsunade explains clearly what hand signs are and how to do it. She demonstrates it to the girl in front of her.

"Sugoi!", the girl claps excitingly, and then a dark aura came over her.

I can't believe my father didn't teach me this. This is so easier than what he taught me. I swear it's almost like he wants to kill me with training.

"Alright!"

After hours of training, it was sun down already and Tsunade said that they were done for the day.

"Thank you so much Tsunade-sama! This method is easier than what my father taught me!", Hanako bows at the Hokage.

"Actually, it's pretty impressive that you can do ninjutsus without the hand signs early as a child."
