I am disappointed in the human race. Why is it that people have to protest to make it known that people of colour should have the same rights of white people? Why are little kids younger then me getting shot at by rubber bullets and are being tear gassed? I am not staying silent anymore. I have people who read my story's every time I post.I have 58k reads on this book. I have an opportunity to share that this is wrong. People being shot at for freedom of speech is wrong. I'm not talking about the people who break things and takes this as a joke. I'm talking about the people who want to change the world for the better.
I am black and I shouldn't be afraid of going out in case I get killed by a cop. I shouldn't be afraid that my dad won't come back from work because a police officer thinks he did something wrong. But I am afraid. I am afraid for my family's safety. And this has to stop. So I'm going to write, like a fanfic writer does. But just so you know that just because the colour of my skin makes me a target that doesn't mean I'll be quite. And please don't get me started on pride fall. That shit is just stupid.
~one shot underneath~
Izuku pov
I wake up to my normal dark room. I look around seeing Eclipse laying beside me. I pet him as I get up and ready for the day. I was going shopping with Shinso. We didn't really need anything we just wanted to look around. So I go over to my dresser and get dressed for today. I walk out of my room and see dad and papa starting breakfast. Shinso looked to be already ready like I was. I sit down beside him as Eclipse walks in and gets picked up by Shinso.I smile turning to my parents. Papa puts down a plate of French toast and hot dogs. I start eating thinking about what I wanted to get. After we were done we walked over to the door and got our shoes on. Dad walks over and takes Eclipse from Shinso. He lets him going over to the couch. I finished with my shoes and waited for Shinso to be done. After he was done he got up off the floor. "Ready?" I nodded.
I turn to my parents and wave goodbye to them. "See you two when you get back" "ya have fun you two!!!" I smiled exciting the house with my brother. We locked the door behind use and started our walk to the shops. I needed a new notebook for school so I should get that. Shinso looked over to me smiling. "So between three hundred ant sized lions and four lion sized ants, who would win?" I laughed. He always thinks of odd questions to ask me.
I thought about it but was snapped out of my thinking by people running down the road. They were covering there eyes and looked to be in pain. Me and Shinso faced each other before running to see what had happened. Yes I was scared but so looked the people who just ran. This is what being a hero is all about. Running into danger to help. Soon we get to a big crowd of people. They seemed to be chanting. Shinso went to one to ask what was going on.
"We're protecting." He said simply continuing to put his sign up for everyone to see. Shinso looked at me confused but we carried on our way. We didn't know what was happening so we stayed out. We got to the shops and we're horrified to see they were on fire. Why weren't the pros here!? I got out my phone and passed it to Shinso. "Call dad and papa". I said before running back to the crowd. I could see that he listened calling our parents.
After running back I could see police at the front. I was glad they were here. But I couldn't see the villain, We're was the villain? I stood there looking around but someone got my attention. It was a woman with a microphone. "We will not be silenced! People shouldn't be killed because of there skin!" I looked back to the police then at the crowd. The police weren't helping, they were just injuring the protesters.
After she said that a Can was thrown out and gas sprayed outwards. I wasn't fast enough and got hit as well as other people. My eyes hurt. Like really bad. I started to hyperventilate as I fell to the ground. I could hear footsteps running towards me. They lifted my head up and put water on my face. Soon the pain went away and I was faced with a man. He had jugs of water and milk. Right after making sure I was safe he ran away to go help others.
I looked around as the police started to shoot rubber bullets at the crowd. There doing this just because people are saying racism is bad? I got up and looked at the people who didn't run. There were both white and black people taking the bullets. "Izuku!" I turn to see Shins running towards me. "Dad and papa said to head home. They can't do anything because there not police". I stared at him then back at the crowd.
I took my phone back as I thought. "Izuku lets go home like dad and papa said to-" "no" Shinso looked at me confused. "Look at the people" he did as I said. He looked around seeing what I saw. "These are the people we are being trained to protect....so why do we run? To save our selves?" He looked back at me with a determined face. "What's going on? Why are the police shooting at people? He said looking around. "I see no villains anywhere".
I explained what was going on. He just looked mad. He walked into the crowd and took a sign that had been dropped. He put it up for everyone to see. I smiled as I did the same. We walked as people came back. The police shot another one of those cans out and I ran. I ran towards the can as it spread gas out. I took it and threw it back We're it came. This was peaceful. But now that the police are here there tear gassing people.
Soon I could hear my voice. It was dad and papa. They ran into the crowd. "We said to come home it's to dangerous-" "I'm not going home un...until people people can walk on the streets without fear". Dad looked at me surprised. "Look around dad, papa. These are the people we as hero's are fighting for." Shinso backed me up. Papa looked around and walked up to the lady with the microphone.
Dad, Shinso and me turned to him. Even without the device he shouted. "This is not right! People of colour shouldn't feel afraid to get pulled over by the police not because they might get arrested but because they might get shot!" Dad turned to me. I looked up at him. "Can I have a sign?" I smiled and handed him the one I had. We started to walk with the protesters. Since I didn't care about if they shot at me I took the job of throwing the tear gas cans back at the police.
We were there for hours. More people joined once they found out two hero's were protecting with everyone els. Shinso even said if he could he would definitely use his quirk the make the police stop but that's not the problem. They will always come back. But we will push them back without quirks. And only with our voices. Freedom of speech is a thing for everyone. And I'm going to use it to make this world a better place then how I found it.
~end~
If you made it to the end thank you. This is just a one shot but you can take it as cannon to the book if you like. Because to me this is cannon. Thank you for reading and I'll be back with the normal story next chapter.
