Immortality. Such a tantalizing thought that humanity has always dreamed of achieving. The idea of allowing any creature to live on eternally has been pondered over for thousands of years. Yet, it has always been just that. An idea, a ludicrous dream that will never come true.

The threat of mortality can never be escaped, no matter how fast you run or how long you hide. Death will always come for you. From the elderly to even the most innocent newborn, death will always be lurking. Ready to strike when it gets the chance.

Is it possible for some delusional maniac to make immortality a reality?

No, it isn't. The people he has sacrificed to make this dream of his a reality will never truly succeed. After all, in order to achieve his "immortality," the people involved have to die. Therefore, there will never be immortal life.

After all, life must come to an end to establish a cycle. Breaking that cycle will never bode well....

The people supposedly living an immortal life are actually dead, trapped as ghosts within an artificial shell. There is no true way for them to be happy, and thee shells can be manipulated easily be outside forces.

Even if immortality was real, how long would you be able to take it before you tried to commit suicide, only to realize that you never could? How many friends and lovers would you have, knowing that they would all die while you lived on? Even if they were immortal also, would you truly stay in that relationship for eternity?

Any sane person would take mortality over immortality. At least being mortal will spare you from centuries or even millennia of anguish and despair.

However, there are those who would take immortality over the promise of an eventual and peaceful demise. They would pay any cost in order to see their dreams realized, even casting away their own life and the lives of countless others. Ultimately, they're the true monsters of this world.

Death is essential to the circle of life, which is why every living being is mortal. If that cycle is abruptly stopped, then what's to stop the person who did it from manipulating life itself?

I like writing these types of monologues, ones that don't have to associate with the characters directly yet gives insight into the thought processes of the characters. It also allows me to divulge my thoughts on more difficult subjects. So....

Stay safe everyone! ♡(*>ω<)ω<*♡
