#1 Me

Payton's pov.
"Hurry or we'll be late!"My bestfriend, Melanie,said and threw a pillow at my head.I groaned and sat up.

"Why are you rushing?"My other best friend,Harper,asked.

"Because we have to tutor the little kids in less than 30minutes." She exclaimed.

"We don't have to today,some people are coming to adopt a girl ages 10-14."Harper said with a smile and sat on her bed.

"Why are you so happy?They're never going to pick us.No one wants a girl going through puberty."Melanie sighed.And shes right.No one has adopted us since we got here.

Harper and I have been here for 4 years.And Melanie has been here for 3years.

"Girls get changed they are coming soon."The head mistress,Mrs.Jones, informed us.

She walked out of our room.I took a quick shower and changed into black jeans,a red T-shirt,a white sweater,and white converse.

I walked out of the bathroom and walked to the cafeteria.After I finished eating I went into the mainroom.Then 5 teenage boys walked in.They look familiar.Harper has posters of them in our room...One Direction.

"I'm going to the library."Mel said and walked into the library in the orphanage.

"I'm hungry."Harper said and walked to the cafeteria.I sighed.

I walked up to our room and sat on my bed.I pulled my wand out of my pocket, I'm a wizard so I can stuff my wand in there without breaking it,and my book of spells.

I snapped my fingers and time froze.I smiled and everything became still.I walked back downstairs to the library.

"What did you do?"Mel asked annoyed.

"I froze time."I said in a duh voice.

"Why?"She asked again.By now we're walking yo the cafeteria.And if your wondering why Mel didn't freeze like everyone else,only normal humans freeze,not magical beams.

I shrugged.

"What are you doing?"Mel asked,eyes wide.I turned my head to where Mel was looking and Harper was hugging a bunch of ice cream cups.

"You gotta try this ice cream"She said dreamingly.Mel and I exchanged glances before bursting out with laughter.When we finally stopped laughing I smirked.

"Why-"Before Harper could finish I snapped my fingers again and time started to tik again.

"Hey you!"The kitchen lady yelled at Harper.

"Snap your fingers again!"Harper yelled at me.I smirked and snapped my fingers again, but I didn't freeze time.
