After returning to the twenty-first district, the Intelligence team immediately went to work trying to figure out the identities of the boys they found in the shed. The young boy didn't speak English so they were having a tough time trying to get any information from him. It was equally as hard looking for information on the boys who passed. Each member of the unit was put to work. Jay and Jennifer were sent back to the neighborhood where the children had been found to follow up on a potential lead. Unfortunately, it was a dead end. It had wasted over an hour of their time. They were now headed back to the station again to see if the rest of their team had gotten any luck.

"So how is it you know Voight anyway?" Jay asked, glancing at the girl as he drove down the road. Jennifer looked at him, a little surprised that he found out about their friendship. It wasn't some big secret or anything, but she and Voight weren't planning on advertising it. They were both well aware of how women in this field are treated. If word got out that they were friends before Jessica got the job, people would assume that Voight was playing favorites. No one would respect her. "He told me that you knew him but didn't say how."

"You know how my mom was sick a few years back?" Jennifer asked. Jay nodded. He recalled being told about her mom being diagnosed with cancer several years ago. "Well, she was seeing a doctor over at Chicago Med, Doctor Reybold I think it was. Ironically, that was Camille's doctor. She and my mom had chemo treatments at the same time and they ended up bonding. Same type of cancer and everything. There were a few times I would go with my mom if I was in town since I didn't want her to have to go through this alone. That's how I met Hank. Camille ended up becoming one of my mom's best friends. She was like a second mom," She explained, smiling at the memory of the woman.

"I'm sorry.. I didn't know," Jay said softly. Jennifer shook her head.

"No, it's okay. Do you mind if we keep this between you and me?" Jessica asked. "You know how people like to talk and I really don't want people to think I'm only here because of Voight. I've busted my ass off to get where I am, I just don't want anything to get in the way of that, ya know?" Jay nodded.

"Of course. He didn't say anything to anyone else, so your secret is safe with me," Jay assured. Jennifer smiled at him.

"Thanks, Jay," Jennifer spoke. Jay smiled back at the girl. They pulled into the parking lot of the station. A cold gust of wind hit Jennifer like a brick. She shivered. "I gotta say, I did not miss that wind," She mumbled. Jay chuckled.

When they entered the building, they immediately spotted Voight and Adam standing in front of Trudy's desk. The two partners made their way over to them to share their findings - or lack there of. Adam nodded at the two when he noticed them.

"So, the kid's a ghost. Same with the other two kids. No one's reported them missing," Adam spoke, leaning his side against the tall desk.

"That lead was a bust. No one in the area could identify any of the kids," Jay said.
