Crossed Paws:Begining

Chapter 1

Maija jumped on Fairy and wanted to bite her shoulder, but the red cat wasn't stupid, so she kicked Maija away from her. Fairy pounced away from the grey cat and was ready to attack. Maija and Fairy rammed into each other, but one, not a careful movement, and the red she-cat is already pinned to the cold ground by Maija.
- Pfft hahaha! I won again Fairy! - Laughed the grey cat, victory tinging her voice.
- Very funny. - mumbled the red she-cat.
Maija looked straight in Fairy's deep blue eyes.
- Next time you'll win. Just try, - she smiled.
Fairy flickered her tail, staring up at Maija from beneath.
- Maybe...

Scoops slowly opened his eyes, yawned, and stretched his body. Another boring day. Oh wow. The pale-sandy cat looked at his big brother... Wait... Where is he? Scoops stood up and walked away from his nest. I hope I won't meet a fangirl again.. Thought the tom.
Scoops looked around but nothing caught his attention. Then realized that Bill was sleeping in a dark place and that wasn't a nest. That was his brother.

Scoops returned to his brother's nest with a dumb-founded expression.
- ay Bill, - said the yellow cat - Bill wake up!
Bill opened his bright green eyes and looked at Scoops.
- Who are you?
Scoops looked at the black tom like he's an idiot.
- Wait... Oh Scoops...I can explain!

Pale-sandy cat chuckled softly.
- You missed the morning hunt.
- What, NO!!! - Bill was sad and confused - WHY???
 Scoops stared at Bill with slight shock.
- Uhm... Bill, are you OK? - he asked.

Maija was sitting next to shining cold water, looking at it like in the mirror. Her eyes were full of thoughts. Ash-grey cat sat up at the river's berk and began to drink frosting, cold water.

Fairy went down the hill and saw Maija next to the river. Red cat rushed to her friend.
- Hey Maija! - the orange she-cat meowed. - Wanna go on patrol with me?
The ashy-grey molly looked back at Fairy.
- You are asking me? Of course I'll go with you! I love patrols!
She-cat with glowing red fur smiled and slowly padded into the forest. Maija followed her in a happy manner.

Scoops sniffed the air.
- Bill... I smell... Other cats. Not from our village!
Bill questingly looked at his brother.
- New ones?
- No, it's... Water Village's cats!
Bill's eyes grew wider. He quickly ran on an emergency hill and meowed very loud.
Every cat hid in their nests, only warriors and guards stayed on defense. A lot of cats rushed from bushes and attacked every cat they see. Mousepelt jumped on Firetail and hit him with claws in the muzzle, but Firetail dodged from her attack and kicked her with his hindlegs. Mousepelt bounced away and angrily jumped on the fire-pelted cat. She attacked the tom with her black, sharp claws, leaving thousands of deep wounds on his body. The young warrior fell on cold grass, unable to move. He felt pain everywhere, so Firetail just closed his eyes, ready to die.

Mousepelt slowly walked to young tom and placed her paw on his neck.
- bye bye stupid rat, - she breathed to him, and with one swift move slashed open his neck. Bill ran to the arena and saw his friend, dying under the vicious grey cat's claws.

Maija and Fairy were walking in the green forest, looking at every tree, every hole, every bush. They sniffed the air, and looked at each other with worried eyes.
- Do you smell that too?
- Yeah - Fairy answered.
Maija rushed in her village, Fairy ran after her.
The ashy-grey cat jumped from bushes on the arena
