Marina Ren held the locket that her mother had given her for her birthday close. It wasn't anything special, it was a simple locket that her mother had bought at a pawn shop in India, that she happened to pass by. The gruff voice of her father broke her away from her thoughts, "Come on Rina, we're gonna miss the flight, wake your sister up and let's go."

She looked up from her locket, to the tall gruff man that was standing before her, he had light blue hair just like hers. Her roundish face had some similarities to her father's, but his eyes were a bright lightning yellow, while hers were a light ocean blue. She nodded, and started shacking her sister wake.

Jennifer Ren opened her eyes to the sight of her little sister by 3years, shaking her awake. "Hey Rinny, thanks for waking me up. Is our flight here?" Rin nodded her head, and signed, 'yah, dad said to wake you up, can you carry my bag? It's kinda heavy.' Jen looked at her sister and sighed, "Of course hun, here give it to me. I'll carry it to the gate." Rin nodded and gave Jen her bag, and started walking away.

Jenny sighed, for the past month since Marina found out about their mothers death, she hadn't spoken a word unless absolutely nessasery. Luckily for the remaining Rens, they had a cousin the was mute and used sign language to communicate, so they had little difficulty understanding the language that Rin had spoken in.

When hearing the warning for her flight, Jen rushed to catch up with her father and sister. When she finally sat down in the aisle seat next to Rinny, she closed her eyes and hoped to whatever God was in the sky that life in Japan would truly be a new start as her father believed, and not just a temporary solution.

------------------------------------------------------------------

It was now 5 months since the move from America, and Jen was right, Japan truly was a new start, but for all the wrong reasons.

Let's start from one month after they arrived in their new apartment in japan, Arakan Ren had decided to go to the bar far more often than nessasery. In doing so, he gained bar friends, and would usually come home drunk off his ass. During these times Jennifer would either make Marina leave the house, or if that wasn't an option hide her somewhere.

Today was one of those days, Rin had just been rushed out of the house. Jenny had done her best to make sure Rin never knew of the drunk man that now lived in their house. Today she had been too late to rush Rinny out the window, of their third floor apartment. Rin had witnessed the man she called her father with a broken beer bottle in hand, and screaming Jennifer's name for her to get him another.

Jen had rushed Rin down their make-shift ladder, that jenny would use to get Rin down fast. While in her hast to get Rinny out, Jennifer had forgotten to lock the door, so as Rin slid down the Pipe tube that she called a ladder, she saw a beer bottle fly out of the window.

Suddenly her thoughts were disrupted by a hand touching her shoulder, she grabbed the hand and threw whomever was attached to it, face first into the sand.

"AH IM SORRY, IM SORRY, I DIDNT MEAN TO DISTURB YOU. I JUST WANTED TO SEE IF YOUR ALRIGHT. OW OW OW OW OW OW,  IM SORRY CAN YOU PLEASE LET GO OF MY HAND, I DIDNT MEAN TO SCARE YOU--"

Marina let go of the stranger's hand, she stepped backwards into a fighting stance ready to fight him.

She looked down at the cowering boy cradling his arm before her. He had short mesy curly green hair, and green emerald eyes. He looked scrawny, and weak, but Rin had known first hand not to estimate the weak looking.

She grabbed the notepad from her side bag, and wrote, 'what do you want brócoli?'

Izuku looked up from his place on the Ground, just as a notebook got shoved into his face. He gently moved the notebook back, he noticed that there was writing on it. He questionably pointed at the notebook, in reply the girl before him tried pushing it back into his face again.

"I'll read it, I'll read it, ok?" He took the notebook from the blue haired girl before him. "Oh, I just wanted to know if you were ok, you looked really sad." Izuku nervously replied, while scratching the back of his neck. (AN: and totally ignoring the fact that Rin just called him broccoli)

Rin stared down at the boy before her, 'he cares' she thought, 'he actually cares even though I'm a total stranger.'

She took back the notebook and started writing again, while the green haired boy stood up and dusted himself off. When she was done she shoved it in his face again.

Izu took the notebook again, "Oh, well I'm midoriya izuku," he stuck his hand out for a hand shake. "It's nice to meet you...?"

Marina took his hand, and mustered up the most courage that she could, in the momment and replied. "R-r-ren Ma-marina."

Izuku looked at her witha bright innocent smole, "that's a really pretty name Ren. Oh, do you want to go to the arcade? I heard from kachann and his friends that they reopened it."

Marina looked at the boy, no, her new and first friend standing before her. She had always loved video games, but was never too good at then, well it was now or never she guessed. She nodded as a sign of agreement,

And smiled.

For the first time in months she smiled. From that moment she knew that she had to keep the boy close to her, and do her best to not let him go.

(AN: Ok that was the first chapter, sorry that it's so short. I know that there isn't a cover, but I can't find a good one for now. I also hope that you enjoyed reading it. And vote if you feel like it.)
