"jihoon! where are you?!" jeonghan screamed, eyes darting around the castle.
"hyung, you know he won't answer when you're going to kill him."
"shut it, woo. where could he be? he's in so much trouble ugh." jeonghan pressed his fingers to his forehead, flying circles around the room.
wonwoo, sitting at their dining room table, reached up and grabbed jeonghan's ankle and pulled him down. "hyung, he probably took a portal out of the castle. he'll be back, don't worry. what's the problem, anyway? you've been on his case a lot lately."
jeonghan sat down beside his brother, eyes looking up dully at the ceiling. "woo, he did it again."
wonwoo's eyes widened, his glasses falling down his nose bridge as he shot up to his feet. "how?! i'm in charge of the gateway! he shouldn't be able to cross over anymore! not after mom and dad-"
"-i know they gave you the task of guarding the gateway. but i know that never stopped us before, and it wouldn't stop him now!" he yelled, his hands running through his lavender hair. "he's so obsessed with that imanity! he's going to put pleia at risk of being found because he wants me to open the gateway so he can be with a total stranger!"
wonwoo raised an eyebrow at his older brother, "but hyung, weren't you in love with an imanity a while back? 'please mom and dad! he's not bad, he's sweet, like us!' blah blah blah and that's why they did what they did?" he mocked, a small smirk forming on his lips.
"i know i was... but it's different now. i know that it was for the best, and it won't happen again. but jihoon won't listen! he's being so stupid!"
"you're wrong hyung..." jeonghan and wonwoo looked over to see their little pink brother flutter through the doorway. "seungkwannie? what do you mean?"
seungkwan's wings shimmered under the sun, the pink and white gradient lighting up the room.
"hoonie hyung isn't stupid... he's in love! i saw him earlier today and i could feel him. my heart suddenly felt really... sad. i don't know what heartbreak feels like, but i think that's it. it's the same as when you couldn't talk to that boy anymore..." seungkwan's face fell, feeling bad for his brother.
"kwannie, i already told you that you don't have to use your empath ability on us. it puts a lot of stress on you and there's so many of us it must be overwhelming."
jeonghan flew over to pat the boy on the head. the boy's pink bangs covered his eyes as they started to well up.
"h-hyung... i felt s-so bad for him," he hiccuped, nestling his head into jeonghan's chest, "i-i know i shouldn't use my power b-but i can't help it sometimes! it just comes flooding in." he cried harder as jeonghan took him in his arms.
"it's okay kwannie, it's okay. i'm just worried about him, that's all." the older boy hummed, holding him tight.
"i know hyung, i can feel it in your heart."
wonwoo looks over at the door to see two other figures at the door. "josh hyung, hao, good afternoon. have either of you seen ji?"
minghao sighed, "yeah, i saw him this morning with his hand in a portal. when i asked him what he was doing, he jumped through a different one." he shrugged and flew towards the kitchen, looking for food.
jeonghan turned his gaze to joshua, who immediately started playing with his hair.
"shua, what is it?" joshua wouldn't meet jeonghan's eyes, committed to braiding his bangs.
the moment joshua looked up to see jeonghan, the older boy's face dropped.
"what do you mean he's still seeing him?!" jeonghan yelled, his lavender eyes burning bright.
