We walk into the kitchen, with my hand on her back. I breathe in the house air.

She looks up at me, smiling. I smile back.

I open up the cabinet, grabbing pancake mix. She sits at the table, looking at me, and smiling, but her mouth wasn't open.

I open up the refrigerator, grabbing out packaged bacon. I follow the directions catefully, trying to make it perfect for the love of my life. I cook the bacon. I pull the milk from the fridge, pouring it into two glasses.

Fifteen minutes later, everything was ready. I set up everything. I put the pancakes on our plates, and the same with the bacon. Then I placed the milk on the table.
