He walked into the party with a fake grin plastered on his handsome face; when you're a man of his status genuine things seem like they never did exist. Yet he is still filled with optimism in life. Is that possible?
Waiting.
Sometimes he just sits in his far-too-large office at his far-too-powerful law-firm...waiting. Always waiting. For what? No one was quite sure, he himself wasn't even aware of what he was waiting for, until it was there.
She stood five feet and six inches proudly with her heels on. Long brown hair cascaded down her bare elegant back in waves that flowed like that of the ocean, but what made her stand out most was her eyes; the beautiful field of blue irises that danced with specks of green. He could easily say she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.
She stood five feet and six inches proudly her head thrown back in laughter as she rested a delicate hand on the tall rugged man standing next to her. He knew this man, Stephen, he was a highly looked upon employee in his firm. Stephen stood by the side of the most exotic flower he had ever seen, a woman he had never gazed upon before in his life, yet he wanted nothing more than to go over to this man, Stephen, and punch him till he sang in the color of his own blood.
He knew this man. He knew this man only requested the presence of an escort, never holding onto what could possibly be love. She stood five feet and six inches proudly, brown hair cascading down her bare elegant back, with eyes the most beautiful shade of blue that held those little flecks of green that sparkled like a million stars at night in the countryside, but she was a purchase. She was bought to play a part, probably for a good amount of money, yet that didn't change his view of her. This woman he had never spoken to, or even ever saw before was a pure angel in his eyes.
He didn't even realize he was walking towards her until his feet brought him nearly five steps away from her and her accomplice.
"Adam, mate!" Stephen said as he slapped his hand on his boss' back.
He didn't like the way the employee stared at his angel with lust in his coal-black eyes. He looked at her like a starved dog staring at a dangling piece of meat. She saw it too and he took note of that but she didn't say anything; she didn't defend herself, because this was her job.
She played the part well, so damn well that anyone would be fooled, but not Adam. Adam noticed everything that anyone else wouldn't in her. He noticed that her vibrant blue eyes with specks of dancing green held so much sadness. He noticed when she smiled it didn't reach her eyes. He noticed the stiffness in her body every time Stephen touched her. He noticed she was broken, but he didn't notice the extent of how damaged she truly was.
"Stephen," Adam nodded in a stiff acknowledgment never taking his eyes off of the mystery girl.
She smirked at him with her full red lips as she sipped her pink fruity cocktail.
"Um--Are you going to introduce me to your friend?" He asked with nervousness in his tone for the first time in forever.
"Ah yes, this is Rosie," Stephen winked at her and she offered him a fake smile that looked so real you had to lean in very closely to notice that it was a cheap knock off of the real thing.
Adam imagined how beautiful she would look with a genuine smile on her angelic lips. He wished to see her without the darkness in her eyes.
"Rosie..." He trailed off, it didn't sound right to him.
She saw him, standing six foot one in his dapper Armani suit across the room. She noticed how his blue eyes looked as if she was gazing into a stormy sky, so perfect yet so dangerous at the same time.
