The Guardians of Elestia

The evil rises

As the cities burn, the people flee to the country side, hoping to find someone with the power to fight back against the creatures summoned forth by the over zealous and egocentric summoner, known only to those that flee him and his minions as Trovan the  merciless.
At the exact moment the balance of good and evil shifted to pure evil. 6 individuals around the realm dropped to their knees in pain as marks appeared burning magically into their skin on the front of their left shoulder near the collarbone. The symbols of the Guardians is Elestia.
The Merchant Twins, Lily and Leo both dropped to their knees in pain as they watched their home burn to the ground as the minions of Trovan drove them from the land their ancestors had held for over 600 years. The twins were unprepared and unsurprised for the status change to guardians from normal everyday citizens.
The twins were descended from one of the original guardians, the Guardian of earth. 
Lily glanced at the symbol of fire burned right through her brothers shirt on his upper shoulder while he watched her symbol of Earth etch itself into his young sisters shoulder.
Several hours north, in the middle of the woods near the forgotten lake, Aquarian the scout fell to the forest ground as the symbol of water appeared on his left shoulder.
Raven the youngest of the Guardians at only 13 watched in fascination as the symbol of air burned into skin, her parents blinked at her as though looking thru a looking glass.
Kiki the oldest of the guardians at 22 was also the quietest as she slide through her daily chores, paused only long enough to see the symbol of soul burning itself in to her skin.
Azel was the alchemist, he froze in place as the symbol of life found a home on his body.
