'Seungyoon...' his voice has gone soft and gentle, as it always does when he's with Seungyoon.
'Forget me. Let it go.'
No. Don't forget. Don't ever forget me. I couldn't bear it. I love you Kang Seungyoon.
Silence.
He's such a selfish bastard, Jinwoo thinks. He hasn't changed. Not an inch.
'Hyung.' He hates how broken and tired Seungyoon sounds. There's pain in that voice, a weary ache. It whispers and sighs to him, I'd have done that if I knew. 'Please teach me how.'
It strikes him then, how much he has lost. Work, friends, family. Honour, morals, integrity. But nothing has hurt him as much as losing Kang Seungyoon.
That's why he'd kept picking up, kept answering those unpredictable calls at godforsaken times of the night. Those calls had kept him tethered, had made him believe that Seungyoon was still tied to him in some way, that he hadn't truly lost him.
It was selfish and stupid and cruel, he realises. He has to stop.
He takes a deep breath and says the unthinkable, drowning out the stubborn pleas of his heart.
'Song Minho in palliative care. He has a crush on you. Probably had one for a long time. He's the one who keeps leaving you sunflowers on your desk. The next time he asks you out to brunch after a night shift, say yes.'
'What -'
'Shhh. Listen to me Kang Seungyoon. I want you to be happy.'
He cuts the call before the other can answer.
I want you to be happy. Even if it's without me.

I think I'll leave this piece for now, since I'm happy with the ending. I may add another chapter or an epilogue in the future, so I'll mark this incomplete.
I love my silent readers, but I would appreciate hearing your thoughts in the comments. Please vote and add on to your reading lists! ❤️
