A beautiful girl dressed in Fulani native wear was standing in front of a mirror in a room which is decorated beautifully, the room was so scented that you can smell it from miles away it also looks like a bridal room in the northern Nigeria

A beautiful Fulani girl stared back at her face in the mirror which is filled with happiness disbelief and small traced of sadness, is as if she is having a battle within herself
Finally she smiled at her reflection with confidence to deal with everything head up

She smiled and said" this is my wedding day, a day long overdue is a thing I can't change, but I will deal with it through patience and faith

My name is Rakiya khamisu from the northern part of Nigeria a developing country where being married is an achievement, the average marriageable age for a female is 18 and some as early as 16 but am almost 29 before getting engaged

What is more surprising is my husband to be my other rib, my better and bitter half

She turned when she heard the sound of a door opening a lady came in side holding the hand of a cute little girl all dressed in native Fulani attire
She walked to me and hugged me crying and laughing at the same time
She said "the long awaited day has come, your time has come"
I too started crying, yes my time has come am finally getting married, now nobody will regard me as left over woman
She is farida my best friend since childhood, she was the only one who knew my dirtier secret my perverted and black belly mind

She is happily married with 3 kids the first one is a boy named after her father Aliyu they are calling him haidar, Umar foruq the second born and lastly my princess my cute pie Nana Fatima nickname Yasmin

Yasmin was the one that came in together with her mother she looks so lovely in her faluni native wear I wish to have a daughter so beautiful and cute like her

In case you are wondering why we are in our native wears is that we are having a Fulani day, a party where we celebrate wearing our native attire to honor our culture except for SHA,'I

SHA'I is a Fulani culture where the groom is beating to prove his bravely and endurance hmm I don't think my husband to be can handle it or maybe am afraid of loosing him

Yasmin ran to us hugging each crying and asked why we are crying we boost laughing with tear rolling down our face
We answer at the same time that we are happy
