Remus Lupin stood with his mother and father on platform 9 3/4, Remus looking for his three best friends, James Potter, Peter Pettigrew and Sirius Black. Well, Sirius wasn't really a friend, more like... a crush.

Remus has had a crush on the boy since the start of 3rd year. However, Sirius was unattainable. Sirius was out of his league. Besides, Sirius was straight. He had been with so many girls at Hogwarts, older and younger than him. He was Hogwarts' sweetheart. So how could he even like Remus in that way?
Remus was drowned in his dark thoughts and self-pity, until he heard his name.

"Remus!" He heard three voices say. He looked behind them and saw the other three marauders. "Oooh, look Mr. Prefect over here!" James said, pointing to Remus' shiny prefect badge. Remus rolled his eyes. "Hey Sirius, James, Pete! How was your guy's summer?" "I played Quidditch for the entire summer! It was so fun!" James said, ruffling up his hair with his hand. "I helped my mom bake and cook a lot!" Peter said excitedly. "You sure you didn't burn the house down, mate?" Remus replied. "Oi! I didn't!" Peter exclaimed.

Remus looked at Sirius, who appeared to be... staring at him? No, that can't be. He's straight. He's probably just looking at me because I'm so ugly, Remus tonight, beginning to feel self conscious. "Sirius, you haven't said a word. How was your summer?" James asked in a motherly way. Sirius shrugged and mumbled, "I dunno. It was okay I suppose." "Time to get on the train, it'll leave in a few minutes!" Peter squeaked. (Hehehe, get it?)

All four of the now reunited marauders got on the train and found an empty compartment. "Wow James, I'm surprised. About ten minutes have gone by, and you haven't talked about Lily at all." Remus said, as Peter chuckled. "Oi, speaking of that, let me go to her compartment to charm her with my wit!" James said and sped out of the compartment to find her.

Now, Sirius was sitting in his seat alone, looking out of the window as if he were in deep thought. Remus and Peter played a game of exploding snap together, and then the Trolley Witch came to their compartment. "Anything off the trolley, dears?" She asked. "I'll take some chocolate frogs, fizzing whizbees, peppermint toads, cauldron cakes and some chocoballs please," Peter replied, handing her some galleons. "Thank you," The Trolley Witch said, going to the next compartment.

"Want some?" Peter said, asking Sirius and Remus. "Yeah, sure," Sirius said breaking his silence and grabbing some chocolate frogs and cauldron cakes. Remus grabbed some chocolate frogs, chocoballs and peppermint toads. "You okay there, Sirius?" Remus asked him, slightly concerned for his lack of talking. "I'm fine," Sirius mumbled, not meeting Remus' eyes.

Soon enough all three of the boys changed into their Hogwarts robes, and Sirius went to the restroom to change, a rare occurrence for him. By that time, James was back, with a hand mark on his cheek. Remus put two and two together and realized what happened. "Want some ice?" Peter asked him. "Sure, mate," James replied, grabbing the ice pack Peter handed him.

They got in a cart and went to the castle. They sat through the sorting, James cracking jokes that almost made Peter die with laughter. Eventually, the sorting ended and everyone began eating. Sirius was scarfing down food, as if he hadn't eaten in a month. "Slow down there," James said to him. "You might choke." "Okay, mom," Sirius said, rolling his eyes and continued eating.

Afterwards, all four of them went to the dorms, to unpack their stuff. Remus remembered the full moon was going to be next week, and sighed heavily. "Alright there, Moony?" James asked. Remus nodded. "Full moon's next week." Everyone got off their beds and went to Remus', all three of the boys hugging him, a was they learned was effective to make Remus feel better. "Man, Remus," Peter said. "You're so tall now!" It was true. At the end of fourth year and over the summer Remus had a huge growth spurt, and grew to be 6 foot, but Remus knew he certainly wasn't done growing, as he was only 15.

They all hugged and chatted for awhile, Sirius still being suspiciously quiet. Eventually, all the boys wanted to go to bed, and Remus did too. He drifted off to bed thinking about Sirius' beautiful and aristocratic features, and how caring and kind he was when you got to know him. But through all of that, he remembered a couple of things. Remus is way out of Sirius' league, Sirius is straight anyways and even if Sirius weren't straight, he'd still be appalled by the idea of dating Remus.
