3: Remus

Remus was very worried about Sirius. He saw Sirius didn't eat much for breakfast in the great hall, and was flushed. Maybe he was sick? They were going to the common space after classes, and Remus came up to him. "Sirius, are you alright, mate?" Remus asked. "You look a bit flushed, are you sure you're not feeling sick?"

Sirius looked at him, and it seemed he grew redder. No, that's not what happened. It was just a trick of the lighting, Remus thought. Sirius kept staring at Remus for an extended amount of time while Peter and James were talking about Wizard's Chess. "What, do I have something on my face?" Remus asked Sirius, immediately beginning to become self-conscious. "Er, no.. I just need to, uh, use the restroom." Sirius replied and ran to the bathroom.

Remus shrugged it off. He went into the dorms, and grabbed his bass and amp, and transfigured the objects as two quills he put in his pocket. Remus was quite good at the bass, but he kept it a secret that he played it. He walked outside near the Black Lake and transfigured his bass and amp back to their regular sizes and set it down.

He tuned his bass prior and started to play. He played some songs, mainly Queen and The Beatles. He played and played songs, his fingers hitting every cord perfectly. He had learned in 2nd year how to play bass, and still loved playing.

"You can play bass?!" A voice asked, startling Remus. He looked around and saw someone. He groaned inside. It was Sirius. Sirius would probably make fun of him for playing it. "Uh, yeah," Remus stuttered out, looking down. "That's fuckin' cool, Moony!" Sirius said, going over to Remus and sitting down next to him. "I never knew you could play bass!" Sirius said, looking like an excited puppy.

"Can you teach me?" Sirius asked. "Wait, but didn't you want to know electric guitar instead?" Remus replied. Sirius nodded. "Hell yes Moony!" "Here, I know some basics. Let me go get it," Remus said getting up. "But you can't tell anyone I can play bass or guitar, ok?" Sirius looked at him and nodded. "Sure, Moony."

Remus got the electric guitar, its amp and went back outside, and taught Sirius the basics. He gave Sirius the guitar, wanting to hear him play. "Uh, Moony, I wasn't really listening," Sirius said, avoiding Remus' gaze. Sirius looked slightly... flushed? Like he was blushing? No, no, that can't be. Remus thought. He's straight.

"Okay, so let me teach you the basics again, and this time you might actually listen," Remus said, already knowing Sirius and James' antics of not listening, Sirius because, 'It's punk rock,
Moony!' And James because of his ADHD just made his attention drift elsewhere (A/N: And hell yes I support the ADHD!James head cannon.)

Remus taught Sirius the basics again. He gave the guitar to Sirius, hoping he'd actually listened this time. Thankfully, he did. Remus took the guitar again and played a few notes, then giving it back to Sirius to copy. Eventually, Remus was teaching him parts of "We Will Rock You" by Queen, as that is one of Sirius' favorite songs.

Eventually, Remus played the song, then gave the electric guitar to Sirius. "Play it until you can memorize it," Remus said, after he had helped Sirius with the hand placement. Sirius nodded and played it a couple times, Remus helping Sirius when he needed it. "Alright Moony, I think I got it down," Sirius exclaimed.

Remus nodded and got his bass out. Together that played to the chorus, the two instruments blending together and making a beautiful sound. After the song was finished, the two looked to each other and smiled, Sirius with a crooked grin and Remus with a silly smile. Merlin, I can kiss him right here, right now, Remus thought, but decided against it as Sirius was obviously straight.

The two went back to the dorms, but not before Remus transfigured the amps and instruments again so no one could see them since they were in his pocket. Remus went to prefect duties with Lily, thinking about the magical moment earlier the whole time, where to Remus it seemed it was only both of them.
