You smiled at the small group children who were singing Christmas Carols to urn some money. You crossed the street and got out some money and gave it to the little girl that was holding the hat. "Here you go sweetie, you all sang beautiful!" The girl smiled widly at the sight of the money in the hat. 'Thank you miss...Merry Christmas' You smiled. "Merry Christmas." You stroke her hair one more time and then continued your walk through the streets.
You loved Christmas so much, it was the most amazing time of the year. The time of peace, love and family.
"Hey Y/N!" You turned around when you heard someone calling your name. 'Hey Harry!' You smiled as he hugged you tight. Harry was your bestfriend and he was also the bestfriend of your boyfriend, Niall. "How are you?" 'Great thanks. You?' Harry grinned. "Awesome!" You laughed as you two continued walking together. "How comes Niall isn't with you, doing the Christmas shopping?" 'I don't know, I asked him, but he said he needed to do some stuff for Christmas.' Harry nodded and smiled like he understood what Niall meant. That wasn't fair, Harry knew what was going on, but you didn't?! You were Niall's girlfriend right? Aren't you supposed to know what he's up to?
"What's wrong love? You're so quiet..." You snapped out of your thoughts when Harry placed his hand on your shoulder.
'Nothing, I was just thinking what Niall could be up to...'
Harry laughed and shook his head. "That's the Y/N I know! Curious as hell!" You laughed and hit him playfully. "Hey!" Harry said, laughing. 'Ohh, I'm sorry mister I-can't-take-anything.' You laughed, you loved teasing Harry. It probably was the thing that bounded you two.
"But don't worry Y/N, I know for sure you will like, whatever Niall is doing..."You nodded softly. You two stayed togheter the whole evening to do the Christmas shopping.
After a few hours, you came home, tired of the shopping. As you opened the front door you heard Nialls voice. "Y/N?" "Yea love, I'm home." You placed your bags on the floor and put out your coat. "How was shopping?" 'Great! The kids from the children's home, were signing Carols again...' Niall smiled and nodded. You walked in and sat down on the couch next to Niall. He turned around and kissed your cheek. "Welcome home sweetie..."
You smiled and took his face in your hands. 'Give me a real kiss...' Niall looked in your eyes before placing his lips on yours. You felt sparks go through your body. It was the feeling you always got whenever Niall kissed you.
You two pulled away and looked at each other smiling. 'I love you Y/N.' "I love you too Nialler...' After another smile you stood up from the couch and went to the kitchen to prepare dinner. It was two days before Christmas so you didn't eat that much. It was like an rule from Niall and you. You don't eat that much, so you could eat twice as much on Christmas Eve and on Christmas.
So after a few minutes dinner was ready and you and Niall sat down at the table to eat. While eating you just talked about stupid things. That was also a thing you loved about Niall, you could always talk to him, weither it was about stupid things, or about really deep emotions. You felt like that was a important part in a relationship, to be able to talk to eachother always.
After dinner you guys watched disney movies for the rest of the night. You felt asleep and Niall picked you up and brought you to bed. "Sleep tight love." 'Good night.' You mumbled before falling a sleep again. Niall laid down beside you and hugged you tight. "Tomorrow is a big day..." He whispered, but you couldn't hear him anymore because you were sleeping already.
*the next day (evening)*
You closed the curtains of the windows that were facing the street. The curtains of the windows that faced the garden stayed open, so you could see the snow. It was the perfect Christmas, it was snowing and the whole world was covered with snow. That's how you loved it. With snow, Christmas somehow seemed so much better, cosier. Nothing could beat a white Christmas.
After you closed all the curtains, you put on the lights of the tree. A soft shine lightened the room. After the tree you lightened the candles you had placed everywhere. Now the room bathed in a romantic light.
Niall came downstairs and smiled as he saw the room. "What do you think Nialler? Pretty enough?" 'It's very beautiful love...' Niall came to you and took your hands in his. 'But not as beautiful as you...' You blushed, allthough you were already 3 years together, you still got shy when Niall would say things like that to you. "Thanks Niall..." 'It's nothing but the truth love...' You smiled as you two sat down on the floor in front of the fireplace.
You spend the evening eating, talking, drinking and kissing. It was an amazing Christmas.
At 10 o clock, it was time for the presents. You went first. Niall got a huge smile on his face when he saw the big present you gave him. He quickly opened to see the new guitar he had been talking about for so long. "OMG! Love! The guitar I told you about! Thank you so much! It's awesome!" You smiled at the sight of Niall who was jumping up and down like a little child. 'With love sweetie...' Niall grabbed your face and smashed his lips against yours. "That deserves something special tonight..." He said winking. You laughed and hit him playfully. 'Yea yea...easy tiger..." You both laughed and he placed another sweet kiss on your forehead before giving you your present. You took it and opened it slowly. You saw the most beautiful shoes ever. You remember telling Harry you loved those shoes when you once went shopping with him. He must have told Niall. It was amazing...You looked up at Niall to thank him but your mounth dropped at what you saw.
Niall sat on one knee and looked up at you. "Niall? What are you doing?" He smiled at you.'Can you please go stand Y/N?' You nodded and stood up. Niall took your hands and stroke them softly. "I need to tell you something very important..." You nodded and listened. "I love you Y/N, with my whole heart. I love the way you wake up at mornings, I love you when you're unsure about your beauty, wich you shouldn't be, because you're the most beautiful woman on earth, I love it when you tease me with stupid things and I love the way you're always there for me, the way I can trust on you whatever might happen. So thank you for that...' You smiled and wanted to say something but Niall stopped. 'I'm not finished yet.' He put his hand in his pocket and he took out a little box. That's when it hit you. Something amazing was about to happen, something that would change your life forever. 'Eventough you say it's enough that I love you back, I want to give you something... I want to give you the most amazing life, full of light and beautiful moments. I want to give you a family, a home. But above of all, I want to give you all the love I have.' Niall opened the little box and you saw the most beautiful ring ever. You covered your mouth with your hand. "My sweet, sweet Y/N. Will you please do me the honor of becoming my wife?" Niall looked at you with a scared look in his eyes. You nodded, not wanting to speak, because everything you would say would sound stupid compared to the words Niall just said to you. Niall smiled and placed the ring around your finger. He looked and he gave a little kiss on it. A small tear escaped from your eye. 'I love you Niall.' "I love you too Y/N." You smiled at each other and sat in front of the fireplace again.
The rest of the night you talked and drank. And when the clock stroke midnight, Niall took your face in his hands and he stroke you cheeks softly with his fingers. "Merry Christmas Y/N." You smiled and looked into his sparkling eyes. 'Merry Christmas Niall..." You said while placing your lips on his.
You would never forget this Christmas.
Christmas the past 3 years had been great.
But this year, it wasn't great...
It was PERFECT.
