**this is just something I wrote during maths, nothing special. never the less, enjoy**

Draco stared meaninglessly into the distance, completely disregarding his surroundings. He rested his head in one hand and twirled a quill between his fingers in the other. He sighed deeply, withdrawing his breath upwards causing the tips of his platinum blonde hair fluttering at the edge of his eyebrows. He was completely immersed in his thoughts of the previous night that he jumped realising he was still in the class room and a door had opened behind him. He didn’t bother to turn to see who was there like the others in his class though. He could simply tell by the sweet smell of freshly mowed grass and newly groomed broom stick straw that it was the person he least wanted to see.

A few girls sighed at the new aroma that now lingered in the room. Draco often wondered how Harry did not notice the flock of girls that longed to be anything more than an acquaintance to him. He also wondered if he Harry was to once again, be punished for his tardiness.

“Late again, Potter” Professor Snape’s droning voice echoed around the room as he sensed Harry’s presence but did not turn to look at him. He continued to write on the black board obviously waiting for Harry to take his seat before he was to lecture him. Once Harry was sitting between Weasley and Granger, right in front of Draco, Snape turned.

“I trust you have a completely invalid and non acceptable excuse as per usual” he spat glaring at Harry.  Draco hated it when Harry sat in front of him for he was completely unaware that the breeze from the nearest window ruffled his hair sending his pleasant aroma straight in Draco’s direction. It tended to be a distraction but it did make him shiver with delight.

“Er – Quittich practise, sir” Harry muttered breathlessly, still puffed from his urgent rush to make it to class on time, though he had obviously failed. He had been late for not only potions class, but the majority of his classes and dinners in the great hall because he was captain of the Quittich team now he started extra practises which had only caused more trouble for the players.

“I thought as much” Snape was glaring at Harry with such ferocity it astonished Draco that Harry did not shrink at the attempt to make him feel inferior.

“10 points from Gryffindor! Also, as this is the fourth time this week you have been late to my class I believe a detention is in order!” Harry sighed deeply and nodded.

“Saturday, 10:00 am sharp!” Snape continued, hastily turning away from Harry and starting towards the black board but after a moment’s hesitation he turned once more and added,

“Oh and Potter, don’t be late or it will be 50 points from Gryffindor and no Quittich for the rest of the term” Snape smirked as Harry lowered his head onto his text books in what looked like a manor of defeat and pure exhaustion. The Slytherin’s all sniggered at Snape’s comments and muttered insults under their breath that were definitely loud enough for the Professor to hear, but it seemed, he decided to ignore them. Pansy and Blaise who were sitting directly beside Draco gave him a nudge in the ribs as if encouraging him to make his usual snide remark and Draco only forced a smirk and returned to his comfortable position resting his head on his hand and focusing all his attention to the back of the ‘golden boy’s’ head.

When the bell finally sounded Draco had counted that Harry had unsuccessfully tried to pat down the bit of hair at the back of his messy head that always stood up five times, fiddled with his glasses at least ten times and turned to make brief eye contact with Draco twice. The first time was only because he had unwillingly been forced to answer one of Snape’s pointless questions about his horrible potion, of which Granger would have joyfully answered for him but when he did not have the correct answer he made him look at Draco’s potion to see what his should have looked like. The second time was because Draco had purposely dropped his quill a bit too far out of his reach under Harry’s chair for attention. He did intend of starting a conversation but Draco froze entirely when his eyes met with the green pools of light that were Harry’s.

Draco raised briskly out of his chair and made his way as fast as he could to the door trying to avoid contact with anyone. He was unsuccessful as someone tapped his should gently while he was speed walking to the Slytherin common room. He prayed that it would not be Blaise and Pansy pestering his about his where abouts last night and why he was acting so weird lately and most of all he prayed it wasn’t the one and only boy who had managed to make him weak in the knees at the slightest touch and even, crazy as it seemed, make him want to be a Gryffindor. Hesitantly he turned to face his worst fears staring back at him with curious green eyes and atrociously messy hair.

Draco couldn’t help but stare at the beauty that was Harry James Potter. His dark messy hair and his glasses that framed his face, not to mention his perfectly chiselled jaw line and above all, his captivating eyes. Just the sight of him made Draco’s stomach flip. He wanted nothing more than to cup Harry’s face in his hands and kiss him deeply and more meaningfully than anyone had ever done before. Draco sighed and blinked out of his fantasy, realising that Harry was still standing before him. His mouth had moved but Draco had not heard what he had said.

“Draco?” the confusion in his voice made no difference to the fact that Harry Potter had just called him Draco and not Malfoy.

“Yes, Harry?” Draco politely asked enjoying the way Harry’s named rolled of his tongue so effortlessly filling every inch of him with joy.

“Did you hear my question?” Harry asked with an amused tone.

“Er – Sorry, no. What was it?”

“I said, was it really you who wrote that letter I found last night in the draws next to my bed?” Every part of Draco that was only recently has filled with delight vanished entirely to be replaced with regret and anxiety. Harry had found the note. Draco’s note. Draco’s note that was not meant to be read so soon. He had expected that Harry would be far too tired to go through his possessions after Quittich last night so he had expected to find time to prepare for this conversation. Fear flooded Draco. He couldn’t face Harry yet. Draco’s face must have reflected his thoughts for Harry let out a sweet, swift and disturbingly alluring laugh that made Draco’s heart race fasten.

“It’s okay, Draco” Harry stepped closer to Draco, slowly and cautiously placing his arms around Dracos waste and pulling him close. Draco was now fairly certain that his was the fastest his heart had even beaten and if it got any faster it would jump out of his chest. The embrace felt so welcoming, warm and so right. Realising he had hesitated and given Harry the impression that it was not what he wanted he felt Harry’s grip loosen as if he was going to pull away. Draco quickly placed his arms around Harry’s waste mirroring his actions and smirked.

“I feel the same way –“hearing these words made Draco feel content and before Harry could finish his sentence and before Draco had time to think and realise what he was doing, their lips touched.
