It's quiet, sometimes. He thinks that's worse than when it's loud, because when it's loud he knows what happening. He's aware if everyone is breathing because they are seething at each other. Raging on and on about how they're going to give in the next load to Boss. It's terrifying, really.
Though it's not as scary as when it's quiet. When it's quiet he's not sure if they're dead or living, there's always foreboding; it tells him to ignore the silence. Then the voices in his head start. They tell him that they are coming, thet Kanashi won't be safe so long as he boards himself to host desk. The voices scream at him, louder than his caretakers ever have.
Today is a grand day, it's scary as ever, but it's not quiet. They're screeching on the top the their lungs, and it's more than two voices. Kanashi is safe, he reassures, she's safe. She has to be- has to be what if she's caught and they kill her again―
Again, right, she's gone. Those voices aren't his parents; they're Ms. Jelavic's and Korosensei's and Karasuma's.
It's loud again, he almost wishes he still had the voices. Anything to drown out the noise.
