Hi! I re-wrote chapter one because the first draft was appalling! Hopefully this one is slightly better :) x

The bell indicating the end of my last lecture of the day finally rang. I couldn't help but giggle at the Students awoke from the hungover haze at the skin crawling ringing. I silently thanked myself for not falling into the wrath of drunken weekday parties.
Though I am grateful to get such an admirable education, the end of the day is always highly anticipated - I had a bad habit Of wishing my life away waiting for the final bell to ring. The second I exited the main block the chilly breeze nipped at my skin. I briskly made my way through busy London. The sun hung low in the glowing pink sky, darkness just beginning to engulf the city. This was a beautiful time of day- when the skyscrapers cascaded through the delicate clouds, creating a stunning skyline. The combination of both the natural and man made aspects of the world that came together in beautiful harmony never ceased to amaze me. Moving to England has been an amazing experience for me, but the weather certainly has no comparison to the sunny days I spent in Florida. Though the autumnal evening breeze is refreshing, the harsh cold does merge into something more sinister when my forgetful self decides to leave my jacket at home.
The education system is so much better here in Britain, so I decided to study medicine at a university here. Because of the cheaper cost- I can also afford to live in a much nicer apartment than the one I would currently be inhabiting in America. As a child I hated science- with a real passion. But as I matured I realised helping people was what I wanted to do so training to become a paediatric nurse seemed like the thing for me.
My apartment was only a couple of minutes walking distance from the university, which was useful when just an extra couple minutes of sleep seem necessary. As I approached the building I call home the soft glow of the city disappeared into the distance. I was gland of this as I have never been an overly urban person- although I love big cities and interesting places I wish to leave all forms of pollution behind me. a luscious green forest was also only a matter of minutes away, some may find the towering trees eerie but I love the woodlands, many of my happiest childhood memories were spent amongst streams and leaves.
The moment I stepped through the double doors the the 30 floor building the hot air smothered my goose bump ridden body- quickly raising my temperature. Mr McDall, my almost too friendly land lord, must have set for the building to turn into a furnace over night.
I quickly skipped past the front desk, hoping to escape another awkward encounter with josh, the check in guy. Nevertheless I still revived a chirpy "Good evening Fliss!" Of which I nodded to in response and flew up the stairs. I had nothing against josh, he's just comes on a bit too eager.
Briskly, I jogged up the stairs- I could take the elevator but with the lack of exercise I have time for, settling for stairs might just do me some good. I soon reached level 12 home to flat number 113, next door, had its door slightly ajar. A boy, around my age sat outside with his back pressed against the wall and long skinny legs laid out in front of him. A mop of messy chocolate curls sat on top of his head. He had headphones pressed into his ears. His gigantic hands held a small iPod, of which had 'meat is murder- the smiths' displayed on the small screen. I also noticed the bad state his hands were in. Dry blood rested on his fists and grazes ran down his fingers. Being a natural worrier, I wanted to approach the boy and ask if he was okay. Hopefully the one year of medical training I had would have at least given me the knowledge to clean up a few scrapes. However, When I inspected his body language and face more he didn't look in pain. He did looks attractive, though most noticeably- he looks sad. Really sad. There has not been one single time where my excessive noseyness has done anyone any favours, so I decided to leave him be on the basis that if he did wasn't someone to talk to- he'd start the conversation. I shouldn't worry so much about a complete stranger anyway. It's none of my business. Rather un-systematically I stabbed my key into the lock hoping it would fit in to place and unlock the door--it didn't. I had to try 8 more times for the door to open.
Slinging my keys and converse shoes to the side for future felicity to deal with, I lazily trudged into the kitchen with the intentions of boiling the kettle to make my 5th coffee today. That is only a small indicator of how tired I have been recently. All this coursework and working at a local coffee shop really gets to me. After my soothing drink I made my way into my bedroom- exchanged my black skinnies and White chiffon shirt for a baggy t-shirt and sweatpants and snuggled down under the Array of blankets which lay on my bed. Sleep quickly took over my body, plummeting me into dreams filled with curiosity and questions of my new neighbour.
Sorry for shitty n short chapter but school takes over my life so I just finished writing this chapter at 3:22am three cheers so slight insomnia! Yeah I just really wanted to get a chapter up- I'll edit later
