It was a year after the start of one of the biggest wars in Japan's history. A time of bloodshed and families being torn apart. A time where no one could find food and had to starve while fighting. It was the time where people were the most desperate for a god to hear their prayers and come help them. But the gods were too busy fighting demons as well, too busy to even hear the people's prayers, too busy to help anyone in need.
One day, as the night was approaching 2 children who had lost their families, wandered into the dark forest (Aokigahara- The suicide forest). They were childhood friends who had lost their parents in the war, they entered the forest in hopes of something to eat, and didn't think twice to enter the forest for they had seen no one else, they thought that the least people there would be the safer they would be.
One of the children's name was Fuwari, a 9 years old little girl, the other one was a young 12 year old boy, called Chihiro.
