"So, Keith's dead?" Ara asked one silent morning.
"Not really he's just in the hospital," Bryn says while flipping through the newspaper.
"That's a shame," Ara's father says while shaking his head.
"I'm glad that bitch in the hospital," Ara says while walking around the kitchen table.
"Don't wish that," Jay said.
"I will and I might won't," Ara shrugged."Your really dating her?" Changmo says while placing down a set of cards and some money.
"Yeah," Ash says flatly while drinking some beer.
"Ash, you need to love her," a girl who's name was Kimmie says.
"I do, but it's just a rough patch. I mean, both of our gangs hated each other's guts and she started flirting with me and one thing lead to another." Ash says.
"Come on, you love her. She practically messed herself up over you," Kimmie ranted.
"I know, it's just that, she didn't have to," Ash says.
"But still, stop having the wrong people loving you."
Kimmie walked off."Hey," Ash says into the phone as Ara picks it up.
She stood up from her bed pacing around the room.
"Hey, Ash." She says while trying not to get excited.
"I know I haven't been the best boyfriend ever but I love you, deeply and I know you've messed your self up over me and you didn't have to. I know you think I'm using you, but I'm really not. And I'm coming by your house tomorrow. I love you bye," Ash says and hangs up. Ara was stunned by the sudden phone call.
"Wow," Haon says while clapping.
"What?" Ara says while getting up from her bed.
"Nothing, Ash is a good boyfriend. Is he using you?" Haon smirks.
"Whatever," she says and pushes Haon out the room."Why are we doing this?" Nafla says while standing in a position with a gun.
"Jay says it's "protocol"," Ara says while walking around on the gravel.
A bunch of people, or gang members were standing outside (or in the middle of nowhere rather) armed and ready for something.
"Jay thinks he's mister big shot. Swear if my dad didn't love him so much he would've been dead by now," Ara scoffs.
"Wait where's Jay at?" One of the gang members yell.
"Right here," Jay says not really armed.
"Why aren't you armed?" Ara asked pissed off.
"Why do I need to be armed?" Jay asks.
"In case someone tries to shoot you because I'm sure as hell not taking a bullet for you," Ara sneered.
She stomped off into the forest to find a lone gang member in his place.
"What are you doing?" She asked. She found her familiar mullet boyfriend sitting by the tree.
"Nothing really," his voice all weighed down and raspy from the equipment.
"I hate this, Jay makes us do this shit every year," Ara complains. She sat down next to him and laid her head on his chest.
"You ever feel like you wanna run away from it all?" She asked after ten long minutes of silence between each other.
"I wanna run away from a lot of things, like the mafia. I can't really see myself if I didn't join," Ash says with a sigh.
"I can't to be honest," Ara laughed.
"I'm sorry what happened at the funeral," Ash apologizes.
"Why? You knew it hurts me when me and you are in the same room and we don't speak to each other," Ara says wiping her eyes because she was crying.
"Look Ara, I wanna get married. I know your young and stuff, but I wanna get married to you and only you. I don't care if I have to wait one hundred years for you," Ash blurts out.
Ara saw his face in the moonlight and he could tell he was crying.
"Ash, I don't know what to say really," Ara admits. She was scared to move because she was shocked he said something like that. Marriage? She loves Ash so much she didn't know about marriage.
"Clear!" They both heard which meant that nothing happened and they could all go home now.
"Look, I wanna get married but the times not right," Ara says and runs off."I can't believe he asked me to marry him," Ara says in disbelief to her cousin Nafla.
"What's wrong with that?" Nafla says taking a long drag from his blunt.
"Everything, I'm not ready for marriage," Ara says while pacing back and forth around the room.
"You think I wasn't ready for marriage?" Nafla says while looking up.
"What you mean you wasn't ready for marriage?" Ara asks with a concerned face.
"Some girl in California wanted me to marry her and her dad eventually said yes and a bunch of things happened. I got a damn divorce within twenty four hours."
"Wow." Was all Ara could say."Where were you?" Harry asked with a worried face.
"Over at Nafla' see needed to discuss some things," Ara says while putting her coat up on a rack.
"Like what?" Harry asks her.
"We we're discussing the next shipment to a warehouse we don't know which one yet," she lied.
Harry just nodded and left."To marry you?" Bryn says in disbelief.
"Yes, and I was shocked," she admitted.
"It couldn't be that bad, he was just asking his response could be different since he said it today," Bryn says.Ara thought about it for a minute and just took a nap.
Sorry it was short😭
