I woke up to a slam of a door and looked around.

He had left.

I showered, looking at my bruised and bloodied body.

Everything hurt; especially the space between my legs.

I got dressed, cleaning up around the house and making him his lunch.

I set the table and went back inside the room, looking in the mirror at the handprint around my neck.

No one's POV
Meanwhile, Lauren in the other house thought she loved the man who owned her.

She was never hit, never hurt, and always loved.

That's what she thought.
But as her owner cane home from work, he seemed different.

Angry and annoyed.
She had fixed him lunch like he taught her, and set the table.

But as he walked in, he wanted to punish her.
He wanted her to do something bad so he had a reason to.

But she didn't do anything, which angered him more.

He grabbed her by the hair, slapping her across the face before dragging her to the bench.

He whipped her, like he only would when she did something wrong.

The look in his eyes didn't show love. It showed fury, and anger.

She was scared. The gentle touch of the man was long gone.

So hours later, she sat on the edge of her bed watching the young woman in the house next to hers, curiously.

She was beautiful, no doubt.

But she was hurt, badly.

"This had to be the girl's first master." Lauren thought.

She was young, pure, and so incredibly beautiful.

"She doesn't deserve this..." lauren thought, watching as the young girl cleaned around the room.

Y/N caught sight of the green eyes girl and gave her a friendly smile.

Lauren returned it, finally able to get a good look at the girl as she stood closer to the window.

Y/N took out a dry erase marker, writing on the glass.

"Hi. I'm Y/N." She wrote, waving at the green eyed girl.

Lauren chuckled at the girl, doing the same with the dry erase marker on the desk.

She wrote on the window.

"Hi, Y/N. I'm Lauren." She wrote, giving the girl a genuine smile.

Lauren hadn't smiled in forever and it felt good to feel happy about something.

Even if that thing was something she couldn't pursue.

Y/N erased what was once on the window as she heard the front door open and slam.

She hid the marker, giving Lauren a solemn look before closing the curtains.

She couldn't be caught communicating with another girl. It was forbidden.

She kneeled at the door, palms up in a submissive position.

Austin walked in, glad to see his property was finally coming to her senses.

He ate, leaving her sitting on the floor, her head down.

When he was finished, he grabbed her by the hair, yanking her to stand.

"You did good, pet." He said, rewarding her with a kiss.

It wasn't much of a reward to her, but to him it was.

He grasped at her chest, letting her know what he wanted.

She didn't dare tell him no as he undressed her.

And when she woke up in the morning, he was gone. Again.

She struggled to get up, the pain between her legs was excruciating.

All men left at the same time and came back. It was the same schedule every day for their work.

So Y/N being Y/N, opened the curtains to see Lauren reading a book, her glasses perched on the bridge of her nose.

Y/N admired her. She was so incredibly beautiful and looked so smart and wise.

Y/N would kill to know what was going on in the other girl's mind.

She knocked on the window, earning a jump from the other girl.

Y/N laughed, seeing as Lauren dropped her book.

"That wasn't funny!" She saw the girl say, but only read her lips.

Y/N threw her head back, laughing.
It was genuine, and she hadn't laughed in years, maybe not at all.

Lauren smiled at the girl, admiring her.

She had never seen such a beautiful being in her life.

Y/N grabbed the marker, writing.

"He was less harsh last night." She wrote, showing the green eyes girl her neck.

The handprint fading.

Lauren sighed as she brought out her own marker, writing.
"What are you? A slave? Pet?" She wrote, curiously.

Y/N erased what she had previously written, writing back.
"I'm a servant, and a submissive. But given the way I've been treated, I might as well be a pet and an object." Y/N wrote, rolling her eyes.

Lauren couldn't help the anger she felt to the girl's owner. The girl needed to be respected and loved, not abused and hurt.

Lauren wrote back. "You don't deserve that. No one does." Y/N sighed as she read it.

"Yeah. I know. It's part of being a female, I guess." She wrote back, shrugging her shoulders.

Lauren sighed, taking a moment to look at the bruises and cuts on the girl's body.

"I wish I could take you away from here. You're the first female I've ever met and I already want you to run away with me." Lauren wrote, in a joking manner.

Y/N's eyes grew wide.

"Lauren! My sister is still in hiding! We can run away to her! I know where she's at!" She wrote quickly.

Lauren looked at the girl dumbfounded.

"You're serious?" She wrote, erasing the previous conversation.

Y/N nodded, doing the same.

"That can work." Lauren wrote.

Y/N nodded, giving Lauren a look as she closed the curtains when she heard the door open.
