Ron's pov.

Right after harry told off Malfoy the professor came and told us that the hall was ready then lead us through two giant doors as we walked down the centre of the hall I saw all my brothers at the Gryffindor table I really hope I get into Gryffindor like my brothers because its the best house as I was snapped out of my day dream by the sorting hat started singing

"Oh, you may not think I'm pretty,

But don't judge on what you see,

I'll eat myself if you can find

A smarter hat than me.

You can keep your bowlers black,

Your tops hats sleek and tall,

For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat

And I can cap them all.

There's nothing hidden in your head

The Sorting Hat can't see,

So try me on and I will tell you

Where you ought to be.

You might belong in Gryffindor,

Where dwell brave of heart,

Their daring, nerve, and chivalry

Set Gryffindor's apart;

You might belong in Hufflepuff,

Where they are just and loyal,

Those patient Hufflepuff's are true

And unafraid of toil;

Or yet wise old Ravenclaw,

If you've a ready mind,

Where those of wit and learning,

Will always find their kind;

Or perhaps in Slytherin

You'll make your real friends,

Those cunning folk use any means

To achieve their ends.

So put me on! Don't be afraid!

And you won't get in a flap!"

Harrys pov

when the sorting hat was done singing the professor that lead us in here started calling names

"Abbot Hannah" " HUFFLEPUFF"

"Malfoy Draco" "SLYTHERIN"

"there's not a single witch or wizard that has went bad that wasn't in Slytherin" Ron told me

"Granger Hermione" "RAVENLAW"

"Zabini Blaise" "SLYTHERIN"

"Weasley Ron" " Ah another Weasley I know just what to do with you GRYIFFINNDOR 

"Potter harry" right after my name was called the hall went silent once I was on the stool the hat was placed on my head kept on repeating "not Slytherin"  "Not Slytherin aye well then better be GRYIFFINDOR"                                                                                                                                                       the Gryffindor table erupted into cheers and the Weasley twins chanted "WE GOT POTTER"

I didn't really pay attention to the rest of the sorting I also  didn't really listen to the speech but after the speech food appeared all over the table I was amazed and started to tuck into the feast I also got to know Ron and the Weasley twins who were called Fred and George once the feast was over the prefects were to take us to the common rooms Percy the prefect stopped in front of a portrait of a fat lady "password please" she asked him "Caput Draconis" he replied with then she swung back to show a warm looking room with a fireplace with a couple couches in front it was all the colour red once Percy gave us a speech we were allowed to go to the rooms once we walked we say five beds and all our stuff was already there. my bed was in the middle of Ron's and another boys called Neville who I think is the boy who lost his toad on the train we all ended up hatting for a while before getting ready and going to bed. The next day at breakfast we got handed our timetables the first lass we had was transfiguration . The day dragged on very slowly and it was finally dinner time and we ha been through our first day of classes luckily I had all the same classes with Ron.

Harrys pov still:

"harry come on harry get up its Christmas" Ron shouted "ugh I'm up" I replied "come of we need to open our presents" Ron said while pulling me down to the common room I was surprised when I saw I was given presents but didn't say anything I didn't want anyone to know about my 'family' . I opened a brown package that had a not on it saying that this was in my fathers possession before he died when I opened it I saw a flowy cloak so I tried it on then I heard Ron say "wow harry I think someone's given you an invisibility cloak they are super rare I wonder who sent it to you" " it didn't say" I told him while handing over the note that was attached to the package. Ron still looked amazed by the cloak  so I let him try it he looked so happy it kind of made me feel weird seeing him this happy but I just shrugged it off as me being Hungary.
