She stood at the grand front doors of the palace in bewilderment as to why it had to be so damn big. "Your Highness, Princess Anne," a red-headed knight bowed to her on his knee. "It is a pleasure to meet you."

"Yeah, you too," she said simply and tilted her head. "Your name?"

"Felix Robane, Your Highness," he stood and bowed again. If she's like the rumors...

"Lovely name," she commented with a smile, making Felix and any servant of her's watching feel a bit taken aback. "Let's go in?" I hate it here.

Felix nodded and lead the princess inside. Anne was staring at all the lavish of the palace, from the marbled floors to the tapestries that hung on the walls. It was beautiful here, and she hated it. Am I stupid or just plain dumb? This dude actually killed me and now I'm marrying him? She let out a sigh, catching the attention of the red headed knight.

"Milady, are you alright?" Felix asked.

She nodded and gave him a curt smile. "Things just don't feel real," she chuckled. On the outside, she seemed as though she were just a little bride getting wedding jitters, but inside... she was a ball of fire. I actually hate it here, fml.

"Rest assured, you'll be fine," Felix comforted, which made Anne give him a confused glance. he answered her look with, "His Majesty isn't all that cruel. You'll probably be left alone, so there's no need to be worried about him."

Oh, that's what he thought I meant, eh? "I see," she smiled, "thank you, Felix." Well, knowing that, maybe it won't be so bad--I can eat all I want.

She was escorted to her--temporary--room in the palace and was left alone in her room, by choice of course. She didn't want to be bothered as she punched her pillows. "I. Am. Losing it." If she could breathe fire, she'd have burnt the whole place down already.
Suddenly, she sighed, "Maybe it's not that bad—no, it's bad."

Anne decided to step out onto the balcony attached to her room and lean against the stone railing. She rested her head against the palm of her hand before spotting a man walking across the garden before her. "Golden hair," she stated, staring with wide eyes.
The man suddenly turned his head and, as if it were fate, connected eyes with Anne's. "Blue eyes," she whispered. "Pretty."

Claude looked at the brown-haired woman and stopped in his tracks. "Golden eyes, huh," he mumbled and turned away, continuing his walk as if he hadn't even seen her.

Well, that was their first encounter.

Their wedding was short and in solitude, which was undeniably incredibly strange for any noble. Anne stood at the altar, waiting for her loving betrothed with her hands clasped in front of her. The sound of the doors opening at the other side of the chapel sounded and she turned her head, white veil whipping around with her movements. He's so pretty, for what reason? she stared at her soon-to-be husband with widened eyes and mouth agape. Claude wore proper clothing (surprisingly) as any man should to his wedding and, of course, looked ravishing. But he wasn't the only person she was surprised to see—it was the small toddler following behind, holding the hand of Felix who she recognized. The child didn't look older than four, she noted.

She watched as he walked up to the altar and stood beside her, not giving her a glance and she knew she had to do the same, only staring up front at the priest. Anne felt as though time went by faster than any moment in her life and eventually, the vows were done.

The thin veil that covered her face was gently taken off, and Anne stared up at Claude, before chuckling.

"What is it?" he asked her. Wow, my husbands first words to me.

"Nothing," she shook her head with a small smile. "It's nothing." You son of a—

He cupped her cheek and bent down, him closing his eyes and her following along as he kissed her. A small, yet sweet kiss that ended as soon as it began.

And so, the Anne who was an assassin in her past life, became the wife to the man who killed her.
