It was like the world slowed down. I know that doesn't make sense but it felt like time slowed down and the two of us were the only ones in the room.
*bam*
There was a silence in the air until someone spoke up
"Oi! Lev, do you want practice receives during the whole practice?!" Kuroo-san yelled.
"Ah! No senpai!" The tall, silver haired male that was sprawled along the floor stood up immediately and bowed to his senior.
" Oh, look who we have here" from the side, I heard ojisan and turned my head to see him walking towards me from his seat. " If it isn't my little chump"
"Ojisan!" I walked towards the old man and gave him a large hug
" Everyone gather!" He spoke and the boys huddled over " This is my little chump, she transferred to school today"
" Nice to meet you!" All of them bowed in a line in front of me and got me flustered.
" AH! N-nice to meet you all too!" I bowed graciously " M-my name's Nakamura Yui"
" I didn't know the coach had a granddaughter," a light brown hair said. "I'm Yaku Morisuke."
"Ah! I'm not his granddaughter" I exclaimed scratching the back of my head. "Ojisan is a close family friend"
" It's a cute girl!!" One of them said in the back. All I could see was a boy on his knees and his hair was in a mohawk. It took a little bit to realize what he said and my whole face went red.
" There he goes again" Kenma-san muttered.
" Pfftt, that's Yamamoto Taketora, he's, uh... something, for lack of a better description" Kuroo laughed. "Oh, Lev, introduce yourself" The boy ran towards the captain's side
"Ah, hello, my name's Haiba Lev" He bowed and so did I. So that's his name...
"Don't you have the same class as her, Lev"
"Uh, y-yeah"
"Why didn't I see you in the classroom at lunch?" Kuroo said
" I-I was playing volleyball with some students haha... " he looked nervous but I shrugged it off. The rest of the members introduced themselves and resumed practice while I sat on the bench.
"Are you gonna join the volleyball team this year?" ojisan asked
"Eh... I don't think so, I wanna relax in high school" I chuckled. I played in middle school and I was pretty good if I do say so myself ;)
" Well, maybe you can be the manager of my team since you have so much time on your hands"
"We could really use a few hands since these boys can't do anything themselves" Coach Naoi chimed into the conversation.
"Maybe, I'll have to get situated before becoming a manager" I chuckled.
The practice ended and the team was either stretching or putting stuff away.
" Are you sure you don't want me to drive you home?" Oji-san asked but I denied his request.
" I wanna walk around to get familiar in the area" he still wasn't 100% on the idea. "I'll be fine!" I laughed. After some convincing, oji-san left and went home.
"Nakamura-chan, you should hurry and leave before it gets dark," Kuroo-san said.
" But I feel bad if I just leave without helping T.T" I said. I grabbed some balls and put them in the basket to help. " How about I help you guys and we all can walk home together?"
"Sure, but you're gonna have to wait while we change," Kuroo-san answered. I hummed and started picking up the rest of the balls.
We all walked out of the gym and walked outside into the spring breeze.
"Ahh the fresh air feels nice" Yaku-san said as he stretched his arms out into the air. " Oh- I have a question" All of us turned towards Yaku. " Why didn't you come to Nekoma when the year started, it was only a few months ago?"
" My dad recently got a job in the city so we had to move"
" What school did you come from?" Kuroo-san said.
"I came from Karasuno," I answered.
"KARASUNO!" All of the boys stared at me wide eyed.
