I knew this was going to be a bad dream as soon as I saw the guy who came out of my sword when I first pulled it. "Hello young warrior." Stated the spirit, I responded with a resounding "sup ghost dude". He looks confused for a moment before going back to talking "I know you don't know who I am oh, but I know all about you, Perseus Jackson", once he said my name I knew shit got real "no one uses my full name unless I'm in deep trouble, so just how bad is it?" The Spectre laughed a deep laugh and looked to me "I am merely here to explain what is going on, and you will understand by the time this is over". Once he had said that he raised his hands into the air and the blank black area that we were one standing in exploded with light, thousands of tiny lights dotted the area, different colors I had never seen were created, it was the most beautiful thing I ever seen, a sight to behold that I wish was real. The ghost began to speak "you know the story of how your world was created correct?", I replied "sure I do, a being named chaos created Gaia and she along with the other primordials made everything else." The Spectre laughed "clearly the gods have forgotten this story, so allow me to tell you it in its entirety" with a wave of his hand a woman who look as if she was made out of stars appeared. "Chaos was indeed to the Creator, and she did create Gaia and the other primordials, but she had a brother" as he says that a man that looked as if he was made out of a crimson red glow appeared "his name was order, and he is the reason chaos is no longer with us." He stated in a somber tone. I was confused but remained quiet so he could continue his story, "for eons they fought when the gods took over and created humanity. Order believes that the gods as well as humanity should be ruled over by the primordials, chaos on the other hand believed that humanity and the gods could govern themselves. This led to a war that lasted ages, in the end chaos gave her life to seal away order in a parallel pocket universe." as the Spectre was telling him the story he could see it playing out in front of them. Once order was thrown through a portal of sorts I saw chaos dissolve into nothingness, the Spectre continued "with her dying breath she created me, someone who would look out for the world and help it in its greatest time of need, that came soon when Zeus defeated Kronos. Didn't take a genius to realize that he was a tyrant so I took on the form of a humble blacksmith, I gathered as many rare materials as I could to create a weapon worthy of the creator, during this the fates came to visit me and told me that once the blade was completed to sail east the only stop when I reached a certain place, I did as I was instructed ended up on an island you know as Long island, once there Zeus and his brother's relentlessly pursued me they knew the damage the sword would cause, before they caught me I shoved it into a stone and used to spell that I knew to keep anyone else from finding it." I saw this happen in front of me and that's when I asked the question of all questions "then why was I able to pull it out?" The Spectre was quiet for a minute, then he burst out laughing in the laughing was shaking the entire dreamscapes so I was trying to keep my balance while hoping for an answer. "Only have you saved Olympus on countless occasions, you treat those who do not deserve it with kindness and respect, you are both respected and feared throughout the mythological world for your power and wisdom, sword chose you because you are the best of your kind." I was stunned at what he said but still confused about what I was supposed to do next, the Spectre since my confusion and answered my unspoken question "the gods will hunt you down onto not even your soul is left, which is why you must raise an army to go against Olympus and end the tyranny of Zeus before the sea and sky turn black, for that is when he shall return." I asked "before who returns?" But before the Spectre could answer the dreamscape started crumbling, "he is coming, go young Perseus for this will be the last time I will be able to speak to you, fufill your destiny." He slowly crumbled away and I could feel myself waking up, before I woke one less thought rush through my head, why do the fates hate me, and with that I awoke with more questions than answers.
