Love does not exist, there is no such thing.
therefore, there is no sorrow.
That is what I thought.
A gloomy day, it was: fog was painted across your isolated village, mild rain landed on your (H/C) hair.
"It's going to die." Ryo firmly grabbed Akira's shirt, lightly pulling him backwards.
"No, don't!" Akira snapped, clutching onto a cardboard box. You walked over to see what he was hiding: a black kitten laid hopelessly in it, resting on a blue blanket. Its fur was withered, the patches of hairless skin dotted on it challenged the poor baby's existence.
"It's going to die. Give it to me." he repeats yanking on Akira's shirt, stretching it until it almost ripped.
"No!"
"Let me kill it!" Ryo yelled, pulling a box cutter out of his short's pocket.
"Ryo. Stop it." you spoke, trying to calm the tension, though Ryo was completely ignorant.
"Why the hell should I?!"
"Don't shout at me!" your voice was afflicted with annoyance and fury. Ryo had always been like this, ever since you and Akira had found him on the cliff's edge. He looked so unique and innocent: Ryo's eyes were azure like Neptune, his complexion was transparent and heavenly. His healthy hair was a beautiful blonde but oddly styled. Ryo was the definition of ethereal. However, his corrupted behaviour remained inside him. It was occasional that he used that tone of voice, the majority of time he was surprisingly quiet.
"G-go away, both of you!" Akira shouted fighting through his tears and sniffs, gripping onto the box and stumbling to the opposite direction.
"Akira, stop!" you attempted to shout after him, but he disregarded you, "See! Look what you did, you idiot!"
"Let him be." Ryo said snatching your arm, leaning himself close to your ear, "And don't underestimate me."
You were stunned, absorbing his words with a mentally shocked expression. He said it in such a.. intense and pissed manner. You headed inside with Ryo, looking out for Akira through the glass door ever so frequently.
People despised me.
Back in our early years, you were tough, (Y/N), and Akira was a crybaby.
A sudden shower of deluge rain had occured, and Akira was still outside.
"We need to go check on him, c'mon." you told Ryo, grabbing the umbrella that hung from the coat pegs. You opened the door, clutching onto Ryo's arm -once he had his umbrella- and dragged him outside.
You scanned through the fog, seeking a figure on its knees ontop of the village's cliff. It was obvious that it was Akira, so you tugged onto Ryo to notify you'd found him.
You and Ryo said nothing while walking. Only the sound of crashing raindrops from your umbrellas and sloppy footsteps were heard.
You approached Akira; his head was dropped down, allowing streams of water and tears to cascade down his shaggy brown hair and adorable pale face. A dirty yellow umbrella sheilded the kitten, a tipped bottle of milk spilled beside him. Akira was drenched to bone, crying as a puddle grew around him. Though, another thing you noticed was that there were no soft meows, nor heavy breathing.
"Why are you crying? You knew it was going to die." started Ryo. You didn't even bother interrupting, what would it affect? Ryo? Pfft.
"No.."
"The weak ones die." Ryo held his umbrella above Akira, although it wasn't going to make a difference.
"No! That's not true!" Akira shook his head vigorously, the water that once cascaded down his hair parted to several drops, "You're crying too, Ryo!"
His eyes grew wide with confusion, "Why? I'm not sad, I knew it was going to die."
You nearly hesitated to say anything. The amount of furiousity that was rushing through you was unpredictable.
"Hey, Aki. Do you wanna bury the kitten? It might not be alive, but it'll always remain in your heart." you said, eyeing Ryo, "C'mon, we don't want you to catch a cold, do we?"
Akira glanced at you for a little less than a second.
"..O-ok.. B-but where?.. "
"In the garden, dummy!" you laughed, somehow finding his stupidity humorous.
He stood from his position, charging at you and wrapping his arms around your tiny waist.
"Thank you, (Y/N)! You're the best sister ever!" Akira began to cry even more, his eyes turning puffy and red. His eyes were flooded with huge blobs of tears, holding onto you tight to the point where you struggled to breath.
"Awwe.. Aki, You're the best brother I could ever ask for!" you wrapped your arms around him, forming a cuddly hug.
'Say sorry.' you mouthed to Ryo. He seemed to understand what you had said, and obeyed your order. Normally, it was the other way round. It was evident that you'd yell at him after this whole situation was over.
".. Sorry, Akira." Ryo hesitated for a moment before spitting his words out. You release one hand from Akira, hauling Ryo to your little cuddle.
"(Y-)-"
"Shut up." you lightly bump his arm with your fist. Ryo let out a sigh, joining your group of forgiveness.
The fact that you were the person who continously repaired your strong bond gave you joy. You were the reason why the relationship was immune. You were the someone who.. gifted Ryo's emotions.
At the time..
I didn't know what you two meant.
