(Max's POV)
I woke up and put on my clothes to go to school. I hated school. Those four boys keep following me all day, everyday. I haven't told anyone, though. Since I thought it'll make the problem worse. Anyways, I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and my hair and went downstairs to go to school.
I was on my way to school, making less of a effort to get there faster. Great. It's not like anything good's gonna come out of today. I didn't care. I just expected for those four idiots to bother me so I wouldn't have to deal with them later But nobody was there. That's weird. Those creeps are usually following me everyday.
Whatever.
I opened my locker to put my skateboard inside it until I see Lucas walking to me. Oh God, here he is. "Hey Madmax" he said nicely to me. I just fake smiled and put my attention to my backpack again. I could still feel his presence near me. I just rolled my eyes and looked back at him.
"Can I help you?"
"Well.... I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out you know.... Like, whenever. At the arcade or something, or to go get ice cream? After school?" He said as he leaned on another locker that was next to mine, while he had his arms crossed over each other. "Mm....maybe. I might go if I don't have anything else to do." I said calmly. He nodded his head and gave me a see you later look as I smiled at him walking away. As the bell rung for our next class, I grabbed my backpack and trotted to the door.
School was over. Finally. I skateboarded to my house and threw everything on the floor and did my homework real quick to see if I had to do anything later. I checked the time:
Oh, it's only 2:43. Not so bad I guess. I figured I should go while I can, I wouldn't wanna waste any time.
I rang the doorbell and he opened it. "Oh, hey Maxy" he says while he makes a stupid smile. I rolled my eyes, but I tried not to giggle.
"Don't call me that." I said looking him in the eyes seriously.
"Okay, sorry."
He eventually let me in. "Anyone here?" I asked him while I ate some ice cream he gave me. "No...just me and my sister, but she's asleep." he said sheepishly. I nodded my head and asked if he had any consoles we could both play on or take turns using. I could tell his expression glowed along with his smile.
"Yeah, sure, I never thought you'd ask!"
I nodded my head and smirked. "Cool."
We were in his room playing with his Game Boy. And I won for the seventh time of course.
"Dammit. There's really something about you, M. Oh, I wanna ask you something actually...
"Yeah?" I said softly.
"I thought like... If we could hang out more, just wondering. Y'know?" I smiled and hugged him and accepted because... Well he's a nice person and he should have some friends. I turned away from the game for a short second.
"Wait, I thought you were gonna take me to the arcade?"
"Yeah. I wanted to, but my friends didn't feel like it so I was just kinda lonely today. And it felt awkward going by myself with only one girl." His face looked discouraged and tired as he said his sentence.
I feel almost really bad for him, I know he doesn't hang out with anyone else besides his three other idiot friends.
"It's okay, I'll hang out with you. Even if you are a stalker. But just make sure your only stalking me, okay?"
He laughed and tried to avoid eye contact with me. Crap. I don't know if I made him anxious or not but either way, he looks so cute like that.
"Um- Okay, sure Madmax!"
"It's fine, just call me Max."
