I thought the world was ending. My heart was broken into a million little pieces, scattered around me like bloody confetti. My body ached all over. My head was pounding. It felt like it was being scraped out of my skull. Tears were dripping down my cheeks as I screamed out silently, no sound emitting from my vocal chords. I was drowning and no one was there to throw me a rope. I was sinking deeper and deeper, my lungs exploding from lack of oxygen, and finally, it all went dark.

Panic. It was suffocating me. I couldn't draw in enough breaths and the panic was clawing at my chest. Something was wrong. I tried to stand but I stumbled and fell, knocking myself out on the nightstand. Just like that, darkness swallowed me whole and the panic disappeared.
