An Unbreakable Bond:

Chapter 2

*Aaron Newman*

I walked into my parent's house and saw my mother standing next to my father. Unlike my mother, he had a furious look on his face. But then again, when does he not? Exactly. "Aaron Jaie Newman!" My father roared. "What on earth have you done?!" This was the voice that he used usually at pack meetings. My father placed his hands on his hips and narrowed his eyes. "You're bonded."

I smiled just thinking about Paige. Bonded is just a fancy word for 'Mates', but they do mean the same thing. Being bonded means that finding the one person that you will spend the rest of your life with them. Finding the person that you love unconditionally. Finding the person the you would do anything for, even jump in front of a bullet for.

And all you have to do to find your mate, is just actually see her. As soon as she sees you, she always feels the same.

"Yeah," I told him. "So what?"

My father rolled his eyes. "She's human," He guessed.

"No she's not! I wouldn't have been able to bond her if she wasn't!"

                "Who is she?"

                I shrugged. "Paige."

He rolled his eyes. "Alright, smartass. Paige who?"

I frowned. "Honestly? I don't know, she didn't tell me."

My dad shook his head and looked at my mother. She nodded, reassuringly.

"Well, it doesn't matter. This is a very small town. There are only so many places she can be."

                I nodded. "Right, I know."

My father nodded to me, as well. "Okay, find her. Then we'll talk."

He tilted his head and smiled at me. "For now, you will be starting high school again."

"What?" I yelled. "I already finished school!"

"I'm going to be making some adjustments to your current life, as well. I am going to talk to Richard, and we will be getting you a job at the family video store, in town."

I sighed. "You have got to be kidding me."

"Do not talk to me like that!"

"Then don't send me back to high school, please," I told him and started backing up.

He narrowed his eyes. "The choice is not up to you. You must find this Paige."

                "Oh, I'll find her, alright."

"Good," He said. "You start school tomorrow."

                Oh my freaking god.

_The next day_

*Paige Howell*

I sat up in bed, and reached for my phone. 'Seven missed calls. Fifteen unread messages,' It said, and I casually groaned. This has been happening ever since I met Jon. He's constantly calling me and constantly trying to text me. Now, the first thing I did wrong was give him my number. The second thing that I did wrong was answer the first phone call. I don't really want to get involved with somebody right now. Because, in high school when you get too involved, it can lead to other things. Such as drama and teen pregnancy. Usually.

Now, I am a virgin, and that's how I want to keep it for a while.

I got up out of my bed and, being too tired from clubbing with Lacey last night, I decided to skip a shower this morning. I took one last night, so whatever, right? The one thing that sounded comfortable this morning was slightly flared jeans and a yellow tank top with a brown jean jacket over it. And to top it all off, some brown flip flops.

When I got to school, it was the same as it was last week. Girls tanning on the freaking front lawn of the school and guys throwing a football. I found Lacey talking to Daniel Thom near the front doors with her face a red. Man, she looked so mad.

"You need to leave me alone!" Lacey screamed in his face and I gently put my hand on her arm. "What? Oh, snap. Paige, I'm sorry."

I smiled. "Lacey, what's going on?"

She groaned and turned back to Daniel. "He is pissing me off!"

"You're the one yelling in my face!" Daniel yelled back and Lacey gasped.

She reached up and smacked him right across the face.

You see, that's the one bad thing about Lacey. She tells people how she honestly feels. She will tell anybody how she really feels. She doesn't keep secrets. If she has to, she will start a fight. She really will.

"You bitch!" Daniel yelled and I knew that that's when I knew that I had to step in. This is the point where I always step in, before it gets too ugly.

"Daniel," I told him and put my hands on his shoulder, gently pushing him away from Lacey. "You need to stop. You need to stop harassing Lacey. She will do that. She will slap you, just like she just did."

"No, shiz," He said and hugged me. "Thank you."

"MmmHmm," I told him and went back to Lacey. She was closing her eyes and breathing heavily.

"I have the worst freaking headache in the history of freaking headaches," She told me and I laughed.

"C'mon, Lacey, the bell's going to ring in, like, two minutes."

She nodded and laced her arm through my arm and we dramatically skipped to our first class. We have almost every class together. That's the way it's been all year. Oh, yeah. We have about two months left in school. Then it's off to college. Maybe
