Chapter 1: Welcome to MUP

Grey's POV

"Grey, it's already 7:30 am ma-lalate ka na sa first day of school mo" pag gising sakin ni mommy habang tinatapiktapik ang balikat ko.

"Ha? 7:30 na? Mommy bakit late mo na ako ginising? Alam mo naman na it's my first day in college I can't afford to be late" napatayo ako sa gulat at hinanap agad ang phone ko.

I checked my phone kung 7:30 na talaga and I saw that it's only 6:30 am then my mom burst out laughing.

"I'm just joking around grey, anyway breakfast is ready. You should start preparing for school" she was still laughing on her way to the kitchen.

I scrolled through my phone for a minute to see if may mga notifications. And as I expected, wala. I headed down to the kitchen to eat breakfast with my mom.

"Do you want some milk Grey?" She asked. "Ayoko mommy Baka sumakit pa tiyan ko sa school" I replied.

"Okay, bilisan mo jan para maka ligo ka na. I'll drop you off later, bago ako pumasok sa trabaho" she said.  I nodded my head as a response.

"Grey! Hindi ka pa ba tapos? It's already 7:30 ma-lalate tayo parehas neto"

"I'm coming! Just a second" I replied to my mom while looking at myself in the mirror. "Grey, okay Lang yan. Don't be nervous, just smile and be friendly and you'll have friends for sure" I said to myself then headed down to meet my mom at the parking garage.

"Mom, pwede ba tayo mag pa-tugtog? Sobrang boring" I asked my mom. "Of course, connect mo nalang yang phone sa Bluetooth" she replied

"Ohh and pwede mo ba ako loadan mamaya?"

"Sure Grey, andito na tayo. Have a great day Grey, don't forget to make friends okay?"

"I'll try, bye mom" I said, then I got out of the car to enter the university.

I didn't expect this, andaming tao sa main entrance. Kala ko konti nalang kase malapit na mag start ang assembly.

It's almost 8:00 am and I'm still lost in this big campus.

"What faculty are you in?" a man asked. "Faculty of Medical Technology" I replied.

"Are you lost?" he asked. Is this man really asking me this question right now? Hindi ba halata na naliligaw ako?

"Yes, can you help me?" I replied. "What's your building and room number?" He asked.

"Uhmm, building 4? And room 201" I replied. Then he started giving me directions.

"Thankyou" I said. "No problem" he replied, then left.

He said that my building is near and if I hurry up I would be there before the assembly starts. So I'm running like a mad man just to reach my room before the assembly.

Luckily wala pa yung professor namin nung dumating ako sa classroom. Pag dating ko ng room I saw an empty seat at the back.

My classmates are so loud right now, and I'm guessing na pare-parehas sila ng mga school na pinangalingan kaya mag kakakilala na sila.

I sat at the empty seat and plugged my earphones and played some sad songs. I'm not heartbroken or sad I just vibe with sad songs more than those upbeat songs.

It's 8:15 and wala padin yung professor namin, I thought 8:00 start ng assembly. Out of boredom I opened a game in my phone. And before I can even start playing the game some seniors entered our room.

"Goodmorning freshmen, I'm a 3rd year student in the faculty of Medical Technology. Pls follow me to the assembly hall"

My classmates started packing their stuffs and started following our seniors. Kala ko sa room Lang ang assembly place, kase ganon sa dati kong school. Well I guess iba dito.

When we reached the assembly hall, it's full of students. I think they gathered all the freshmen in our faculty here.

I saw some seniors lined up in the stage. Ano meron? Baket walang mga professor dito?

"Good morning to all the freshmen in this room. We would like to formally welcome you to Medical University of the Philippines or as they call it MUP. I'm Zac Huston a 3rd year student. And I am also the President of this faculty"

"Ang gwapo naman nya, may girlfriend kaya siya?" "Kung wala sana ako maging girlfriend nya" these are some of the things that the girls are whispering about just now.

"As your seniors we would like to build a strong relationship with you guys. Kaya sa araw na ito you will spend your whole day with us"

"But before that, we need to discuss about the rules and regulations of the University and our Faculty"

They began to lecture us with the rules and regulations of the University and our Faculty as well.

Antok na Antok na ako, it's been 2 hours since they began to start the lecture. Hindi ako nakatulog kagabi ng maayos kase kinakabahan ako.

I was about to fall asleep nang mag Salita yung isang senior "Okay, that's all the rules and regulations of the University and the faculty."

Finally tapos na din, it felt like forever. It's been 2 hours since we sat in this floor. My legs are staring to cramp.

"So as I've said earlier, maka kasama nyo kaming mga seniors nyo buong araw. Para maging familiar kayo sa buong campus and you can also ask us questions regarding sa school, places, subjects, or anything na gusto nyong malaman" the president is talking again.

"In order for this activity to not be chaotic, kailangan nyong bumunot ng number para malaman nyo kung sinong senior ang maka kasama nyo."

Nag simula na kaming pumila and bumunot ng number sa box. After that bumalik na kami sa mga pwesto namin kanina.

They said na tatawagin daw nila yung mga numbers and pupunta nalang kami sa side para makilala yung naka assign na senior samin.

It's been 10 mins and finally they called my number. "114" I stood up and began to walk to the corner of the room.

I saw a man right next to the door talking to a girl. Well I guess he's the senior that was assigned to me.

"Excuse me? Kuya, ikaw ba yung naka assign sa 114?" i asked. He said 'yes' then turned around.

"What a coincidence" he said. He looked surprised and delighted to see me.

"Ha? What do you mean?" I replied. I was confused to what he said.
