You know life isn't all it seems when your the one with the world on your shoulders. I feel everyone's pain, and my own. And sometimes it's hard, but I need to carry on like everything is normal, that's the only way I'll get by.
I just need to grit my teeth and deal with it.
"Lex? You in here?" Leanne said, opening my bedroom door.
"Yeah, I'm just practicing my swings" I said, punching the sack.
"I did mine this morning, you need to strap your hands when you do that" she says. Showing me hers.
"I didn't have any bandages left" I sighed.
"Here I do" she straps my hands that are cut.
"Thankyou for yesterday" Leanne smiled.
"Just doing my job" I said.
"You know you don't have to do this anymore" she whispers.
"I mean yeah, there's bad things out there, but that's just the world, you need to focus on you" she says.
"Leanne, I do this because if I don't, we probably won't be here next month with all the shit that goes off" I explain.
"I suppose that's true but, if your sick of it then, you don't have to carry on you know" Leanne said.
"Leanne, thanks but this is my life and if I don't who the hell is gonna do it?"
"Okay, I guess your right, I'm going out with Caleb for a few hours, Lucas is down stairs" she said.
"Where's he taking you?" I ask.
"Out for dinner then were gonna go for a drink" she says.
"You two love birds have fun"
Leanne p.o.v
I decided to wear my red knee length dress that was strapless, my black blazer and my black platforms.
Caleb dressed in the casual black skinny jeans and white Hollister top. But still managed to look smart. He styled his brown hair in the normal quiff I left mine it naturally straight.
Once we'd got out the door we got in Caleb's car and started talking.
"Can I ask you a question?" I asked him.
"Anything" he smiled.
"Do you think Lucas likes Lexi?" I smiled.
"Course, he does, he just want ask her out, you know cause she's always so independent, I mean yeah, we help her out with the fighting but, she likes to do most of it herself"
"Yeah, I know what you mean. Sometimes, I feel like, she's not acting herself, like she'll be happy-go-lucky but when she's alone, I've caught her crying several times but I don't bring it up, it hurts because I know she's hurting" I explain.
"Yeah I've caught her looking sad sometimes, I think she just needs space, try not to worry about it" he says, taking hold of my hand.
Lexi p.o.v
I got changed into nike joggers and my grey sports bra. I went downstairs, into the living room where Lucas was sat, eating some spaghetti.
"Hey Lexi Loo" he greeted.
"What have I told you about calling me that?"
"Snappy, don't shoot" he hold his hands up in defense.
I made my way to the fridge and grabbed a seven up can.
"You suit those joggers" Lucas smirks.
"Thanks I guess" I slump myself on the sofa.
"Wanna watch a movie?" He asks.
"Okay"
He turns on the tv and puts in the film 'insidious' one of my favourites.
He sits down and sits close to me.
"Don't worry if your scared you can snuggle up to me" he laughs cheekily.
"I think you'll find you will be the scared one as this is my favourite film and you've never seen it" I playfully nudge his arm. He smiles and laughs.
Lucas has had a crush on me since I met him and Leanne, their twins. Although, they look nothing a like, they've always been two peas in a pod though, same with me and Caleb. I introduced Caleb to Leanne and from then he just started drooling like a puppy, got annoying at times.
I wish I could be like that though, have a normal life, boyfriend maybe, wear makeup, paint my nails, go clubbing all that.
News flash, that isn't your life Lex, your life is to be icolated from fun stuff and deal with the evil, sharpening knifes and loading guns with bullets. Yeah, that's the life I live. Been doing it to long now to complain though.
In the middle of the movie, I could feel Lucas jumping, he turned round to me.
"Lex, can I ask you something?" He asks, I really wanted to say no, but I'm polite.
"Yeah"
"Why do you do it?"
Not this again.
"Do what?" I acted.
"You know what I mean"
"Lucas, I do it because who else will? The world can't be suffering all the time, and you've seen how terrible it is out there, I can't give up now, not after all these years, it'd be wrong" I explained.
"When you do this, and we ask to come help why do you say no?"
"Sometimes, I go alone"
