Problem

'what ifs'

"Have-have you told you mun?" Rhydian asked, his voice soft. Maddy shook her head violently.

"I only found out today. Only Shan knows...and you now." Maddy looked down to the floor. She felt ashamed. She didn't know why she just did. Maddy knew she wasn't going to be daddys little girl anymore. Or mummys little angle. Or the schools perfect student. Maddy was going to be a mum.

"Well we're gunna have to tell them." Rhydian said digging his hands into his pockets.

"I know." Whispered Maddy stareing out the window. "I know."

"It's gunna be alright Mads" Rhydian took her hand just like he did in Shannons presentation. He felt like he needed to protect her.

"But what if it's not!" Madfy cried "What if they throw you out. Or they sperate us. Or they do something else."

Rhydian serched Maddy's eyes "They are 'what ifs' Madds. You are fearing the worse. So come in lets go and tell them, before you can think about it."

Rhydian lead Maddy into the kitchen. Emma and Danial stood singing to ABBA whilst doing the dishes. Maddys lips cracked into a small smile which quickley faded. Rhydian cleared his throat.

"Oh-um-yes...well." Emma stuttered.

"Mam. Dad. Me and Rhydian need to tell you something. Now." Maddy said before she could think. "Well...me and Rhydian you see. Well...." Maddy couldn't say it." I'm pregnant!"

Maddy smiled, she had done it. Danial however scraped his chair along the floor and walked out. Maddy look at her mam.

"Well..." Emma was speechless "I'm disappointed. Have you decided what you are going to do?"

Maddy shook her head and look towards the door and clutched Rhydians hand "Is he mad, mam?"

"No...hes just disappointed too. Give him some time."
