At twelve o'clock I was permitted to leave Heismanns, after everything was picked up and cleaned up of course. I made sure that this was always the case because I really didn't enjoy spending time somewhere when I could be home asleep in my cozy bed. I glanced at the clock which read 10:37 PM and groaned. I was already exhausted and had been here for only a measly 4 hours. I decided I should probably go around and check to make sure that all the customers were happy once again to prevent me from falling asleep.

As I made my rounds to each table, I felt as if someone was watching me. Raul. When would he ever get over me. I turned to give him a look, but when I did he wasn't there. It was that kid with the hat. I quickly turned back to the table I was helping and continued telling them what I recommended.

"So the filet mignon is good?" the woman asked.

"Yeah, it's delicious. It's put in a special mix of herbs and spices before it's cooked which makes it really delicious and juicy. If you want something more dry, I would recommend-" my voice was cut off by the sound of glass breaking.

The woman I was helping merely glanced up from her menu and shut it half way  and said, "I think someone should go clean that up dear. I'll take the filet."

I took her menu and turned to look at the broken glass all over the floor around the feet of the boy in the hoodie.

He looked directly at me and then down at the floor before saying, "For crying out loud can someone come and sweep this up!"

That automatically made me move and so did another waiter. I went over to the table, made eye contact with the boy before bending down to pick up the bigger pieces of glass that wouldn't fit inside a dustpan. I heard him mumble something under his breathe which I didn't think I wanted to hear. Their whole table was silent for a moment before they continued conversation. I started eavesdropping even though I knew I shouldn't, but I just couldn't help it. They were talking about something to do with shampoo I think before the blonde haired one bursted out laughing at something someone said. It was difficult to hear what it was, so I decided to get up and start sweeping with the broom Austin left me.

I placed my hand carefully on the floor to push me up from it without falling over. When I came up, I hit my head against the rim of the table causing it to shake a bit. My face immediately turned beet red again and I heard a snicker.

"I-I'm sorry, uhm, excuse me," I turned to go find a trash can to throw the bigger pieces of glass away in. I really didn't want to go back to sweep up the rest of the glass, but I knew I had too. It wouldn't be worth getting snapped at by the guy in the hoodie again who seemed pretty pissed off when I returned. His hands were crossed over his chest all defensively.

"Don't hit your head this time, Macy." He sneered and gained a laugh from the blonde guy and a grin from the boy with the hat. I looked at them both and then returned to sweeping up the remaining pieces of glass, my cheeks burning.

"Next time don't break your glass," I retorted back to him. He looked at me smugly and then sort of half smiled before looking down at his pants. The whole  table was quite before the boy in the hat bursted out laughing. His laughter was followed by the rest of the table, except of course the hoodie guy who was still looking down at his pants.

I finished sweeping and picked the dust pan up off the floor, "Can I get you a new drink sir?" I asked, feeling powerful now since I made the whole table laugh.

He looked up at me and replied threw gritted teeth, "Water."

I nodded and smiled politely. Before turning away I stole a glance at the boy in the hat who's face was red from laughing. He smiled at me, which made his eyes crinkle at the corners and his teeth were as white as pearls. I sheepishly smiled back and then continued to go get hoodie boys water and turn in the woman's order. While filling a new glass up with water I looked over at the table were the drama had unfolded and stared at the boy with the hat on. Every time he smiled I couldn't help but grin.

"Macy! What are you doing!" Lila, another server cried and took the water glass out of my hand. It was over flowing since I wasn't paying attention to it.

"Oh, sorry." I replied and took it back from her, "I got distracted."

She frowned and looked in the direction I was previously looking, "I bet you did." I squinted my eyes at her while I dried off the cup, "Whatever."

"So, four skirt steaks, three filets, two chicken caesars, and one ribeye." I read allowed to the group after taking there order.

They all looked at me and nodded.

"Ma'am?" Hat boy said. His accent was like silk it came out so smoothly.

"Sir?"

"What's your favorite thing to eat here?"

Why was he asking me this if he already ordered...

"I'm just wondering, I might change my order." He smirked.

The woman with the silver hair groaned and rolled her eyes at him and then gave me a silly look.

"I would have to recommend the New York Strip. It's really yummy and tender." I replied.

"Alright then that's what I want instead of the ribeye."

I collected all the menus and took any drinks that needed to be refilled. I could've sworn that hat boy watched me the entire time I collected the menus and talked. He was strange, but oddly I was so very curious about him. I wanted to know who he was and who these other people were. Were they all best friends? I didn't know but it sure seemed that way, the way they cracked up at every little thing each other said. When I returned with the drinks, my hand brushed his when I set it down. It made the hair on my arm stand up, since he was so warm and my hand was so cold.

"Sorry," I murmured under my breathe so that only he could hear.

"I didn't mind," he replied back and smirked.

I cleared my throat uncomfortably and wiped my hand on my black shirt. I was not expecting that from him. The table seemed like they had everything they needed, so I didn't bother asking if they needed anything else. I walked quickly back to the front of the restaurant and crossed out reservations that had came in already tonight.
