As the sounds of the protesters grew louder, Y/Ns heart grew fonder. Her friend was nowhere to be seen, but Y/N didn't mind, she felt safe standing shoulder to shoulder with the protesters. 'I'll find her later,' She thought to herself. Her legs were starting to cramp up, but her pace didn't falter.

Moments later the clouds blocked the sky completely, making a shadow pass over the crowd. Loud siren noises came from behind Y/N, gradually creeping closer. The sound of rubber bullets being shot and the screams from the protesters behind her roused everyone. Before long the people around her start to run in every direction, making her vision blur.

'Shit,' she thought to herself. She was running like her life depended on it. The sign she held moments ago was lying somewhere on the ground, getting trampled on by the scared protesters. She felt her heart hammer in her chest and the adrenaline spread through her body. She hasn't ran like this since the bleep test in p.e.

Y/N was out of breath, but she was still running. For some reason people around her started to slow down, confused, she turned to the person next to her and asked why. 'Literally look in front of you.' She turned her gaze to look at what's ahead. She swore mentally for not putting on her contacts because someone on twitter told her it would react with the tear gas.

Reaching into her fanny pack she pulled out her pink glasses. The world around her became ten times clearer and she could actually make out what's in front of her. She blinked a couple of times and looked at the people in front of her. 2 people in riot gear were towering over a group of fat cops. She relaxed a little. The cops that were behind her were nowhere to be seen and there seemed to be no more fighting. 'I got lucky,' she thought to herself, looking around at the damage done by the cops.

Y/N pulled out her phone, and dialed her friends number. Straight to voicemail. She dialed again, and still no answer. She felt a sinking feeling in her chest. What if she left without her? She looked around in hopes of finding her friend, but her eyes landed on a taxi instead. 'Since I cant find her this is my only way of getting home.'

Making her way to the car, she tried to move past the cops and the people in riot gear. Intimidated by their gaze she sped up her pace and tried to avoid eye contact. Seconds later, she was pushed by someone she presumed was one of the cops. She didn't have time to react and she fell to the floor. Hard.

'Fuck,' she swore. Her vision went blurry, and not because her glasses went flying off. The sounds of people throwing themselves at the cops were being drowned out by the ringing in her ears. Her hands shook as she brought them up to her head to check for any bleeding. 'Stay still and apply pressure,' a deep voice said. She felt a gloved hand at her neck and she flinched, opening her eyes to look at the person.

They were in riot gear, kneeling down beside her. 'What's your name,' she said stupidly. She was about to pass out, but she couldn't resist making small talk. 'I can't tell you that,' He chuckled 'and that's not what matters right now.' She let out a small laugh, making her head pound even more.

Her vision was turning darker, and at this point she couldn't even hear what the man was saying. Something about stitches. She didn't care, she felt like she could listen to that voice forever. She felt her consciousness slipping and she gave in, closing her eyes.
