Olivia's POV: Present Day
There is nothing I hate more than watching nice, romantic movies. It's not the movie itself that I don't like, more like I hate the fact that the two main characters fall in love too easily. Okay, so I understand if the girl falls in love quickly, I mean, I did too, but with the guy you have to wait years just for him to notice you.
Now, if you're disagreeing with me, you're either some kind of princess or magical creature that can make boys like you. I know girls like that, ones who aren't shy and can be their true self around their crush. Yeah, no.
For me, it was more like, I suddenly liked this guy named Matthew and soon he was always on my mind. He was always the wish that I thought of at 11:11.11, and was, well, is, the guy I dream of having some kind of connection with. I guess you could say he's my Prince Charming, but he's already had so many Cinderellas that I'll never matter. Matthew is the type of guy that girls just love, funny, good-looking, tall, a little cocky, and of course, confident. I'm sure you know the type.
For some reason though, I feel like Matthew is different. I know I'm probably wrong, and that he'll just end up hurting me, just because he didn't pay any attention to me, but there's just something that I love in his personality that shines so brightly in his eyes.
You're probably thinking, this girl is insane, and maybe I am, but I swear there's something there that everyone else is missing, something that they should be noticing first-off.
"Ms. Johnson, will you please pay attention?" Mrs. White says, her blue eyes glaring at me. I sigh, turning my focus back to the front of the room, instead of the beautiful view outside. If they don't want students looking out the window, why would they put such a pretty garden right outside? Someone did so not think this one through.
As Mrs. White continues with her boring lecture, I turn my attention to the wonderful view inside the classroom. Yeah, I bet you can guess who. Matthew's in all my classes, which I have yet to figure out whether its a curse or a blessing. I mean, it's more time to embarrass myself in front of him, but also more time to spend trying to make at least a friendship.
"Yes, Matthew?" Mrs. White calls. My head whips around to concentrate on the words he is going to say, or more realistically, his voice. Matthew's voice is deep, but not creepy deep, and he's so smooth with words that I've never heard him mess up before.
Yeah, so this is turning into some kind of praise for him, so I'll stop. For now.
Before Matthew can speak; however, the bell rings and I jump out of the uncomfortable chair in which I had been forced to sit for the last forty-five minutes. After shoving my books into my locker, which by the way is underneath an underclassman which is totally unfair, I rush down to lunch.
The food here is okay, I guess, but my friends constantly remind me of how lucky we are that we don't get the really awful stuff, and I agree. When I came to this school in seventh grade, I knew absolutely no one. It's not actually that bad of a feeling, it's like a fresh start, but with no one to share it with. Which, I guess, is kinda the point.
Fortunately, I quickly found a friend in quiet Kaleena, who I found out isn't so quiet after all. When I say quickly, I do mean quickly, and I value her friendship a lot, especially because of something that happened earlier in this school year with some of my other so called friends. I guess some people will do anything to be popular, wouldn't you agree?
As I sit down at our normal table of six, that's right, I'm not the most popular person on the Earth, I quickly scan the room for Abigail. It's just an old habit that will take a while to wear off. Abigail and I were really close about two years ago, but I guess wanting to be friends with people who are exciting and new is a crime.
"Hey!" Kaleena smiles as she sits beside me at the circular table. "How's your boyfriend?" I sigh and look at her, with a slight smile playing at my lips. The boyfriend thing is a joke we've had forever, at first I would scream, "I don't have a boyfriend," but I'm used to it by now.
"Hi," I greet back as turn back to my lunch which is consisted of a sandwich and apple juice. What? I may be seventeen years old but that doesn't mean I can't drink apple juice.
"You would never guess what happened in Chinese today." Kaleena continues, now speaking of her silly Chinese teacher and the awkward, yet funny things that occur during their classes. Everyone at the table always gets a smile on their face when they listen to the events of her class.
"What's up, bitches," Sasha says, slamming her blue tray onto the table. Sasha is a little... different but in the best way. Our lives would never be normal as long as she was around, but who likes normal? Not us!
I glance around the cafeteria again, this time searching for a certain someone with dark brown hair and darker eyes. I catch sight of him laughing, his whole face lighting up and I turn away, but not without a faint smile on my lips as well.Author's Note:
Hey, guys! Sorry about the one curse word, but it was the only way to properly show the character's personality. Again, this is kinda based off my life, but I'm not really that obsessed with my crush, even if my friends try to tell you otherwise. Anyway, I hope you're enjoying the story so far!

See you guys!
