"Welcome to our final conference before Mr. Kwon here retires," The co-worker starts, motioning over to the manager, who sat in his leather chair. His hair was trimmed neatly for once, slicked back and making the whiteness of it glow. Somehow, it made him look younger. The speaker takes a minute as everyone claps and congratulates Mr. Kwon, although Yoongi stays put in his seat, arms crossed as he stares at the man. Once they make eye contact, he simply nods and turns away after the old man gives him a small smile.
"Before he leaves, though, he will pick the new co-manager, since I'll be moving up to his position." She says, smiling as everyone claps, bowing. "Thank you. Alright, lets get into the plans."
Yoongi tunes out the overly energetic lady, making continuous glances at the clock, that seemed to go by slower and slower each dreadful look. Sighing, he turns his gaze to the windows. The city was alight, building's blinking and cars' honking faintly heard from the top floor of the office building. It was a nice view, one of the things Yoongi had to admit he liked about his night conferences- sure, he hated returning home so late, but it paid off and the view was great. Plus, he was only a Billing Manager, it's not like he needed to vote in on the designs the company used, or really participate in much unless it involved fees and money.
Vaguely, he notices thick clouds overhead, creeping up onto the city as some sort of sneaking cat. Yoongi doesn't register this fact- which is very important (that he should know), and continues to fiddle with his pen, wishing he could retrieve his phone and play on it. Not like he'd actually play games, he'd probably either text his -amazing- boyfriend or watch dance videos of him. Jimin. Sweet, loving Park Jimin.
Just the thought of that certain blonde, that Yoongi get's to call his own, waiting at home sweetly for Yoongi- makes him smile. Of course, he succeeds in not smiling in a meeting- for gods sake, he wasn't ready to be acknowledged for smiling like a lovestruck teenager in the middle of a meeting. Nevertheless, he still pondered on just getting up and flat out leaving this supposedly 'important' meeting to return home and cuddle with his boyfriend.
But, fate was not on his side, he notices somewhere in the back of his head as his name is called.
"Min Yoongi, we're moving you up."
Shell-shocked, Yoongi's mouth falls open. "What? Why? I'm only a billing manager, I did nothing special." Yoongi defends, although he has no clue why he even is defending his rank. He needs the money. Mr. Kwon's new replacement lady simply stares at him, a look of bore written into her small smile.
"Because we looked over your information files, and you have been loyal in regards to this company so far; therefore, you'll replace my old stationing, as co-manager." She smiles, handing him a stack of papers, thick in a vanilla file.
Yoongi continues to gape, not knowing whether to feel overwhelmed or happy. On one hand, the pay is almost triple.
But, again, it will be a lot more time and work out of his day, out of his time with Jimin.
"Uh-"
Bang!
Simultaneously a lightning strike flashes over the city, illuminating all wonders of it for a split second. The whole table around Yoongi looks out the window in awe, watching heavy rain soon follow, banging into the window.
"Oh, dear, lets hope the power doesn't waver-" A receptionist in the side table says, already on the phone to probably contact someone about getting the generators running, just in case.
