"He's doing what?!" I yelled into the phone dropping the knife in my hand I was cutting carrots with and gasped when it almost cut me. "Ya know what Hen? I'm gonna call you back. You to bye" I sighed hanging up and throwing the knife in the sink, I sat on the steps of Evan's apartment waiting for him to get home.
"Hey baby I didn't know you were gonna be here when I got back," he said smiling at me. "Yeah I wanted to surprise you," I said "well I'm surprised!" he said hanging up his jacket. "Something wrong?" Evan asked standing in front of me with a confused look on his face. "Yeah actually," I said looking up at him "you're gonna sue them? Because they want you fucking heal properly?" I stood up.v "Who told you?" he asked stepping closer to me causing me to back away. I saw the hurt in his eyes but I honestly too angry to say something nice right now. "Did you do it?" I asked "Would it matter if I told you I didn't? You've already decided I'm guilty." he said raising his voice a little. "Evan they're just trying to make sure you don't get hurt!" I said feeling my eyes well up with tears I immediately saw the change in his expression "baby don't cry" he said coming closer " don't" I put my hand up so he'd stop walking towards me. "I'm gonna go and stay at my place tonight because I don't want to say something I don't mean out of frustration," I said calmly walking to his front door and opening it "Evan?" "what are you gonna yell at me some more?" he asked with an attitude. "I love you," I said knowing I'd beat myself up later if I left without saying it "I love you to" he said quietly.
It had been a few hours since I left and I was making dinner for my roommate's son and I since she was working late tonight when I heard a knock on the door. I looked over at the preteen doing his homework and asked "Josh baby can you get the door?" "yeah!" he said getting up and walking to the front door opening it "Hey Buck!" I heard Josh excitedly say "hey J is, is Y/n home?" "Yeah she's making dinner" I heard Josh let Buck in. "hey love why don't you finish up in your school in your room yeah? Evan and I need to talk" I said looking at Josh "Ohhh she called you Evannn you're in troublllee" Josh said grabbing his stuff "room Josh," I said "I'm goin' I'm goin'!" he said walking out of the small kitchen. "He's not wrong I am in trouble," Buck said to which I said nothing in response and sat on the counter. I watched as Buck walked to the pan on the stove flipping the pancake "breakfast night?" he asked "yeah Josh was bummed about his mom working late so I made him his favorite" I responded. "Care for one more?" he asked putting the pancake on the plate with the rest of the ones that were done and turned off the stove. "Evan I understand you need to be out in the field, but what if something happens?" I asked "I can't handle something else like that so soon, not after the blood clot incident," I said as he stood between my legs and cupped my face. "I know princess and I'm sorry, I did it out of spite." he said, "will you call it off?" I asked leaning into his touch "yeah baby I'll call it off" "thank you, I'm sorry for yelling earlier I was just frustrated at my dumbass boyfriend" I joked smiling when he chuckled "this boyfriend of yours sounds like a real piece of work" he said smiling "Oh believe me he is" "can't be nearly as bad as my lady though, whew the temper on that one" he said causing me to laugh. "I love you so damn much Buckley" "I love you so damn much more Y/l/n"
Evan picked me up off the counter and set me on the floor "Josh! Dinner's done come set the table please!" I yelled for josh laughing when he and Evan both eagerly set the table as I made plates. I sat down with the boys and smiled as Josh told some story from his day at school "you hit him back? You're badass" Buck said with a mouthful. "Well Y/n always tells me if they hit me first I hit back," Josh said, "hey that was our secret!" I said nudging Josh with a small smile. "It's fine Buck is cool he won't tell!" He said taking a bite of bacon, "Yeah babe! Buck is cool!" Buck said causing Josh and I to laugh. "Fricken dorks," I said taking a drink of water "we're your dorks," Josh said "yeah all yours" Evan continued "yep all mine" I smiled.
