Pulling the final strap of her floral swimsuit over her shoulder, Yashiro Nene sighed to calm her nerves.  Her first date with Amane Yugi, her fellow classmate and newly titled boyfriend.  Her first boyfriend, actually. She gripped her double colored hair, moving it all over to one side of her neck.  Her fingers grazed through it gently as she sectioned into three, braiding it.  She tied it off with a soft scrunchie of a color that also appeared on her swimsuit.  She released her grasp on her now braided hair, thin, light cream strands of hair falling beside her cheeks. As a final touch, she added in her hair clips, which resembled little horns. She looked in the mirror and smiled at her reflection, satisfied with the way she looked.  She pulled a beach kimono over her arms, which was the same color as the tips of her hair.

She grabbed her bag, tucking her phone away in it before rushing out of her room towards the front door. Before she walked out, she slipped on her sandals.

The walk towards a beach-like area Amane had invited her to wasn't too terribly far.  Nene enjoyed walks, anyways.  Sometimes she even thought that walks and hikes would perhaps tone down her ankles issues.

As she approached the area, she noticed her date right away.  He sat on a large beach towel- big enough to seat two people- a picnic basket was placed beside him.  Nene made her way over to Amane, sand already making its way into her sandals. "Hey there, Hanako! I'm sorry if I'm late!" She apologized, taking a seat beside her.  Her knees bent up close to her chest, her head turn in Amane's direction.  "You aren't late, though I'm a bit confused as to why you keep calling me 'Hanako'," he chuckled.  "I told you that you could just call me Am-" he cut himself off when he finally got a good look at his date.  His eyes widened, his cheeks dusting a faint red. "You look really beautiful, Yashiro," he blurted out. Nene's face turned a bright shade of red, tucking some of the strands of hair that fell earlier behind her ear.  She looked down at the sand, smiling widely.  "Yo-you look good yourself, Ha- Amane!" She replied nervously.

The two shared a bit of awkward banter, both attempting to flirt.  As expected of them, they both failed, not having much romantic experience.  Suddenly, Amane remembered something.  "That's right, the picnic basket! Amane took a hold of the handle for the picnic basket, dragging it in the middle of them.

Yashiro readjusted, her body turned towards Amane and her legs stretched out a bit more.  "You didn't have to bring snacks!" She reassured him.  Amane shrugged, smiling softly.  "I wanted to do something special for you!  You deserve it, Yashiro," he responded sweetly. Nene leaned closer to him slowly.

Her arms wrapped around his torso, pulling him close. "Thank you!" She giggled, squeezing him tightly for a moment before pulling away. "What all did you bring?" she asked curiously.

Amane remained still, his face a bright red and his amber eyes wide.  "I-I- um- watermelons and strawberries!  You do like those, right?" He questioned worriedly, his face relaxing a bit.

Nene nodded quickly.  "Yes, I love them!" She replied, placing a hand on his shoulder.  She looked over at him, examining his features.  She didn't quite realize how she was staring.

Amane chuckled nervously, smiling faintly.  "Do I have something on my face?" He teased, poking Yashiro's nose.  Yashiro stiffened, her face flushing.  "N-no, I'm sorry!"

She quickly looked away, looking for a change of subject. She pulled out a watermelon slice.  "These look delicious!" She giggled before biting into it.  The juices coated her lips, her eyes widening slightly.  "It is delicious," she added, her cheeks still filled with watermelon.

Amane laughed quietly.  "Hold on! You've gotta little mess on your face," he stated, bringing his palm to her cheek.  Yashiro tilted her head quizzically, furrowing her eyebrows together.  "H-hu-"

Yashiro silenced herself when she felt Amane's thumb brush against the corner of her lips, wiping away a bit of watermelon that managed to escape her lips. After wiping away the mess, Amane smiled softly, before pressing a gentle peck to the area he had just wiped with his thumb.

"Are you always this messy?" He joked.
