"Yoongi?"
Jimin glances down at his phone, the video call having gone on for a bit now, and the dark-haired boy on the screen is unsteady as he lifts the phone. "Hm?"
The lights of the convenience store give Yoongi a soft glow, and it makes Jimin's breath catch in his throat, a smile tugging at his lips. "Never mind."
He had called Yoongi, expecting the older to be between jobs, but Yoongi had been in the middle of an evening shift at the convenience store; he had carefully explained to Jimin that it was a slow day, so the younger was keeping the dark-haired boy company.
A tiny smile tugs at the lips of the man on the other side of Jimin's screen, and Jimin gives a small, content sigh, setting down his phone to grab a glass, turning to fill it from the pitcher. "Yoongs, do you work tomorrow?"
"No," Yoongi's voice is raspy from lack of sleep, and his eyes crinkle slightly at Jimin despite the gentle purple circles lingering underneath the deep brown irises. "Took off."
Jimin can't help his smile, picking up his phone, making his way to his room after glancing at the time; it's early, but he's tired, content with seeing Yoongi through the small screen for the first time in a while. "You want to come over after your shift? We can watch a movie. You could stay the night so we can get breakfast tomorrow."
He doesn't miss Yoongi's slight discomfort, the older boy's face reddening as he looks away from the phone, silent. Jimin bites his lip, closing his door behind him. "You don't have to. I never want to pressure you. I was just thinking it would be easy since my place is close to the convenience store and you won't have to go all the way home."
Yoongi nods, quiet, and Jimin wishes he would say whatever he's thinking out loud. He flops unceremoniously onto his bed, tucking an arm under his pillow to prop up his chin, balancing his phone on another pillow. "You look tired."
The older shrugs slightly, glancing away briefly, and Jimin sighs, burrowing his chin further into the pillow. "How about we spend all day together tomorrow?"
Yoongi's lips curl upward into a smile, and he nods, the phone shaky as he reaches over it to arrange a shelf. Jimin grins at the older's soft smile, his chest warm. "Just text me whether you'll sleep here or we can meet halfway between our apartments for breakfast."
The older boy is silent, a slight head bob showing Jimin acknowledgement, and the younger sighs, comfortable in his small nest of pillows and comforters. "I want to kiss you goodnight."
Yoongi's cheeks are scarlet, and Jimin's eyes crinkle into a soft smile, completely focused on the beauty of his boyfriend, the gentle features under the harsh lighting of the convenience store beautiful to him.
He doesn't remember falling asleep, but when his eyes open again the phone is dark, silent, the older boy having hung up long ago, and hours have passed. Jimin sighs slightly, curling into a tighter ball, cuddling into his blanket. It's cold.
There's a slight click of the front door, and Jimin sighs, refusing to move, knowing Jamie must be sneaking out to see Yeonjun again. He is startled, therefore, when his bedroom door cracks open slightly, and a tousled black-haired head is barely discernable in the dim light, Jimin's heart jumping.
"Yoongi?"
The other boy is silent, his footsteps soft and careful as he makes his way to perch lightly on the edge of Jimin's bed, and Jimin smiles, rolling over to see him better. "You're here."
Yoongi nods, and it's a long moment before he exhales slightly, his eyes lingering on Jimin's for a moment before they move to wander the room, and he lets out a slow breath before shifting further into the bed, gingerly lowering himself onto the mattress next to Jimin; he's barely on the bed, teetering precariously on the edge of it, but Jimin's breath catches in his throat, and he stares at the older, his chest warm.
"Are you - you're staying?" He whispers, and Yoongi exhales, his eyes onyx in the minimal lighting, and he nods ever so slightly.
Jimin can't help the smile pulling at his lips, staring at the boy he's enamoured with, and Yoongi is silent, his lip caught between his teeth, his eyes wandering the room.
"You can move closer, if you want," Jimin whispers into the darkness between them and Yoongi doesn't reply, his eyes distant before he finally shifts ever so slightly, just within arms reach of the smaller boy.
They lie in silence, and Jimin rolls onto his side to study the other boy's profile, noticing the way Yoongi is chewing on his lip, his hands fluttering slightly where they rest on his slim chest, as if they can't be still.
He's uncomfortable.
The corner of Jimin's lips pull downward slightly, and he lets out a breath, reaching over to brush a finger over Yoongi's cheek, his thumb gently tugging the older's lower lip from it harsh confinement between his teeth. "You don't have to sleep in here," he whispers, and Yoongi turns to look at him, his body shifting so he lies on his side to face Jimin. The younger gives Yoongi a small smile; if he's this uncomfortable sleeping next to Jimin, the warmth of waking up next to him isn't worth it.
"There's a quilt in the closet. And the sofa's free."
Yoongi's eyes linger on Jimin's, and they're both quiet for a long moment before Yoongi carefully shifts closer, pressing a soft kiss to Jimin's mouth, a chaste, gentle affection, and when he pulls away Jimin gives him a smile, hoping that the older knows it's okay, he's not upset about it.
They're so close, noses almost touching, and Yoongi lets out a soft breath, peppermint and sweetness washing over Jimin as he barely whispers. "'M okay."
Jimin doesn't push it, a warmth spreading through him at the older's proximity, and he closes his eyes, a small smile on his lips.
Yoongi watches the younger boy's breathing steady itself as he drifts into sleep, the dark room silent, the bed warm with the two of them so close.
Jimin's beautiful. Yoongi's chest isn't as tight anymore, knowing that Jimin's intentions were sweet and pure, just wanting him to be close.
Yoongi's lips curl into a soft smile, and he finally relaxes into a dreamless sleep.
