There are multiple forms of this AU!
There's one where when you and your soulmate is connected, the string is red, but if either of them cuts it(other people cannot cut the soulmate's connection, only their own(that is your decision though)), the string will become a ghostly white, and a very low chance to connect it back ever again.
There's also ones where the person doesn't have a string— or has more than one, which each one different colors for different people((REVERSE) HAREM!!)
Maybe a short romance novel or something?
