Collecting Evidence

Connor's POV

I open my eyes, blinking once or twice as I turn on. I have finalized my report to cyberlife. I look around. I am still in the office. I walk to my desk and as I wait for Hank, I scroll through a number of deviancy case files. A new one. As if it was timed perfectly, Hank sits down. He grunts, the smell of alcohol lingered in his breath, and his clothes."Good morning lieutenant," I say, trying to give a simple greeting.

Hank heavily sighs, "Mornin'."

"There was a new report of a potential deviancy.. Maybe we should check it out." I state, trying to get Hank on board.

Although he is stubborn, he doesn't seem like he wants to fight today so, he groans and stands up.

"Where at?" Hank asks as he grabs his phone and his car keys off of his desk.

I give him the exact directions to an abandoned house in Detroit, and he walks off. I adhere and follow.

The floorboards of the old, abandoned house's dark wooden flooring creaked and croaked as they were stepped on. We've been assigned a case about a potential deviant spotted near this area. I immediately scan the area, and one thing, in particular, catches my eye. Blue blood. There are a few trails leading to corners and in the back. An android has in fact been here. I crouch down to a corner, using my index and middle finger in an attempt to sample the blood, but I pause as I hear Hank's voice.

Hank groans in abhorrence, "Jesus Christ." he mumbles. "Keep the evidence OUT of your mouth," Hank adds in a matter of fact tone, disgust laced within his voice.

Instead, I simply examine and look at the blue blood. "There's traces of Thirium 310," I announce."

In English please." Hank crosses his arms. He seems antsy. He must want to get the job done and go home as soon as possible. Typical Hank.

"Thirium 310. This is what humans call Blue Blood; a major component of CyberLife and a fluid that circulates energy and electrical information throughout the android's body and bio components. Thirium 310 is one of its main ingredients. It's like your blood, but an android version." I explain.

"Shit, something may still be here. This thing could be anywhere," Hank said.

"Affirmative. The deviant has lost a lot of blue blood, so it couldn't have gone far. Hopefully, it hasn't shut down." I reply.

The house is cold, but not cold enough to have an android shut down. It must be somewhere towards the back of the house. I look around the room once more to find a baseball bat. I crouch down next to it. The fingerprints belong to the deceased homeowner, Thomas Schmidt. To my current knowledge, and the current evidence provided, there is no human trace here. That may not be the case. It seems as if the deviant was protecting themselves. Classic.

I open the fridge to the kitchen. Still running with some food. Some to date, some out of date. "Why would an android need food?" I mumble to myself. "Unless there is human here," I add quietly.

I look over to Lieutenant Anderson, who seems to be looking around himself. He hasn't seemed to find more evidence that's critical to this mission yet. "Lieutenant?" I call out, looking at the majority of the evidence collected, ready to formulate a conclusion from evidence gathered in the front of the house.

"Yes, Connor?" Hanks scraggly voice responds.

"I may have a lead."

"Shoot. I'm all ears." He replies and exhales, tuning his attention onto what I'm saying.

"The common outcome of androids turning to deviancy was that it was protecting itself against its owner. This ones story intertwines with the rest of them. Once the owner left, after continuously hitting the android with the bat, the android fought back; only doing minimal damage as it was throwing punches with its fists with no strategy. It hurt the human, but it wasn't the cause of Mr. Schmidt's death. The owner never returned, and the files say he was killed in a car accident after leaving to blow off some steam. Mr. Schmidt was driving too fast and ran a red light, getting hit by upcoming traffic. There's the common rA9 writing on the wall, which leads me to believe that the android is still here, and it may not be alone." I state, still in deep thought.

"It may be accompanied by a human," I conclude.

"Makes sense. You may be onto something." Hank says. He doesn't seem to have much to say. There isn't much evidence to work with to actually get a real answer that points to where the deviant is hiding.
