The Mare

The heavy rains
Fall upon the dirty horses
While the one's whose mane
Is pristine and golden
Laughs at the string
Words unspoken
Souls ablaze
Not yet woken
The giggly mare
So unfair
Laughed and laughed
All the way
To the track
She ran and ran
Then the string
Washed by the rain
Arrived to see
Their friend  in pain
There she died
Died in vain
