Min Yoongi (born March 09, 1993), better known by his stage name, Suga. He is a South Korean rapper, singer, dancer, music composer, and songwriter. He is a member of the South Korea hip-hop boy band, Bangtan Boys (also known as Bulletproof Boy Scouts), formed by the Big Hit Entertainment.[1][2] The group debuted on June 12, 2013, with their single No More Dream.
Suga was born on March 09, 1993 in Daegu. Suga wanted to be Firefighter, Basketball Player, and Musician when he was younger. His image before debut is he started music in 6th grade. In middle school he learned classical composition and started writing songs daily after that.
Suga is came in 2nd place for the Big Hit Entertainment auditions, to former member i11even. Suga choose to rap after listening 'Fly' Epik High's song.
He was/is an underground rapper before joining Big Hit and Bangtan Boys in 2011. He was also a backup dancer on Jo Kwon's music video "I'm the One" with Jungkook, V, Jin and J-hope. During his trainee days, he had composed the song Tomorrow and Jump which is available in their 2nd Mini Album Skool Luv Affair. He also had composed their song "Like" in the album 2 Cool 4 Skool in a period of 40 minutes. Jin, Rap Monster and him, produced and released a cover track of Kendrick Lamar's "Swimming Pools (Drank)", and titled it "School of Tears," a track delved into the workings of modern society, especially that of the school system, and its backward ways.
He received his stage name by coming up with ideas with Bang Sihyuk PD. Out of all the choices given, Bang Sihyuk PD said that "Suga" suited him best so that's how he got his stage name. He also mentioned that he got the name "Suga" because his skin is very pale, and that he choose this name because he wanted to promote sweetly.
He is inspired by Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Lil Wayne, and Hit Boy. Not to forget that Bangtan Boys also mentioned that they chose Big Bang (South Korean band) as their role model.
Suga is currently a member of Bangtan Boys along with Jin, J-hope, Rap Monster, V, Jimin, and Jungkook.

Suga was the first to be introduced as a member of Bangtan Boys, along with J-hope and Rap Monster.[3]
J-Hope, Suga & Rap Monster, have composed and written the lyrics to all of the songs from their albums. [4] Additionally, he starred in a variety show called 'Rookie King' with the rest of Bangtan Boys.[5]
