TW: kidnapping, and could be considered Stockholm syndrome

He started prepping the room for his new arrival. Cleaning and sharping the knives until pristine. Organizing his large array of poisons and lethal injections. Finally, he adjusted all of the straps on the long chair. Perfect. He smiled to himself.

Katie was sick and tired of working. She worked as a maid, for many different rich and powerful people. Her outfit was too sexual, especially in the presence of people who could kill her whole family, if she was to say anything about it.

She quickly packed up her stuff, hoping to avoid her creepy boss. Katie walked out of the mansion, past the large gates. She wasn't allowed to park inside the gates, and always had to take a long walk before and after work to get to and from her car. Katie took out her keys, and reached for her car handle.

A bag quickly came down on Katie's head, which caused her to drop her keys. Her screams were muffled.

Katie awoke in a strange room. Her head was still covered, but her hands and feet were shackled. The thoughts of her being murdered, and diced into tiny pieces infiltrated her head.

Soon, the loud thud of footsteps walked in. It was definitely a man, from the sound each step made. There was a scrape of metal against the floor. Then, Katie's hood was ripped off.

Katie's eyes adjusted to the bright fluorescent lights, and she immediately started looking around the room for an escape. Then, she saw a man in a mask sitting in front of her, staring her down. She recognized the mask as the anonymous mask all over social media.

The man stood up, and walked over to a table. This table was covered in all sorts of tools, that looked like they could cause immense pain. He picked up a syringe, and pushed until some of the liquid squirted out.

"So," he started. He had a slight New York accent. "My name's Josh. I need you to tell me some important information, Katie." Katie wondered how he knew her name, but then started to get worried because he told her his name. She started to freak. He was probably going to dispose of her.

"How do you know my name?" She asked, barely able to get the question out.

"It's my job to know, dear." He walked towards her. "If you cooperate, then I won't be inclined to hurt you."

He turned around and took of his mask. Josh turned back around and smirked.

"I just need some," he walked closer to her again, "information." He trailed his finger up her arm, then played with a loose strand of her hair. If she hadn't been kidnapped by him, then maybe he would be attractive.

He leaned in close to her face, and Katie looked away, averting her eyes. He grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at him. He had a slit in his eyebrow, and blue eyes. He was wearing a short sleeve black shirt, and black pants with a lot of pockets.

Somehow, he got closer to her, then whispered, "I'm going to unshackle you." He backed away. "If you want of course. I mean, I don't know what your into, dear," he said in a regular voice, crossing his arms. He winked, causing Katie to turn bright red.

"Why am I here?" Katie asked, while Josh took off the shackles.

"I have a business proposition for you. The blindfold thing is a formality, my men took it a bit too far I think. Anyway, you work for some of the richest people in the country." He gestured to her maid outfit. Katie tensed, totally forgetting she was wearing the gross thing. "Since they're so rich, I need a bit of extra help getting some information."

Katie nodded her head, and stood up. She felt a little lightheaded, but she really wanted out of this place.

"I'm sorry, I don't think I'll be much help to you." She started walking towards the door, before realizing something. "Where's all of my stuff?"

"Well, my dear, you'd be very helpful. But if you really want to leave, I'll have to blindfold and drug you again. It's a shame, we didn't even get to discuss payment." Katie's eyes widened, she didn't want to have to be drugged again. That was the worse thing she's ever experienced. She saw him going for the syringe again.

"Fine. Fine! I'll do it. Just no more drugging," Katie pleaded. She was also interested in how much she would be getting paid. Josh looked her up and down, then placed his hand on her lower back.

"Perfect, I had no doubt. So, how about half a mil," Josh asked, opening the door, and leading Katie out of the room.

"What?" Katie asked in shock. She doesn't even make that much in 3 years combined. Katie thought about retiring early, and her eyes sparkled.

"Oh, is that too cheap? I'm willing to pay double that." Katie's eyes lit up, before giving Josh a questioning look. "Fine, you've convinced me. I'll triple it. You're good, dear."

Katie felt like she had heart palpations. 1.5...million dollars? Katie couldn't comprehend that amount of money.

"As you know, I am Anonymous, and you will be too. This job will be pretty easy, so don't fret." They walked up a staircase, and now it seemed like they were in a normal house. Well, it was more of a mansion than a normal house. They walked up more stairs, until they finally stopped at a random room.

Josh opened the door. Inside there was a mini chandelier, a lavish bed, a couch with a TV, as well as a book case filled to the brim. Katie's eyes widened.

"You'll have to stay here tonight, for safety reasons. There's clothes, towels, and food will be delivered soon. Make yourself at home, dear." Josh winked, then quickly went on his way, not staying for Katie to argue.

Katie walked in shutting the door behind her. The closet was filled with clothes her size, in the bathroom all of the products she used, including makeup, were provided, and the books on the shelf were the ones in her wishlist. Did he stalk her? No, he's a hacker, he probably hacked her computer and everything.

Katie stepped out onto the balcony. She breathed in the fresh, night air. What had she gotten herself into?
