Never Thought

We all went inside and unpacked our bags and got settled.  While mom was making spaghetti and garlic bread and dad watching the.sports channel, I went outside to explore.

I've never been an inside person. I loved the feel of the dirt between my toes ,the smell of the old willow trees, and even the feel of dew in my hair. As I walked to a pecan tree a noise was coming from the rose bush down from it. I would've ran back inside, but my curiosity was built-up a lot inside me.

I crept towards the bush. It had pure white roses hanging from the ends of it. When I got closer and moved the bush. Nothing was there.

Mom cooked a big meal, but.I.only ate some garlic bread.  I've never had much of an appetite. I was just never hungry.

I got my phone and my headphones and listened to music.

I was walking in a meadow filled with thick fog. "Hello! Is.anyone here?" No.answer. I walked for a while alone till I heard footsteps not walking but running! It looked like a man in his late 40s with brunette hair and dark brown eyes. The only thing I could think of was to run too.

"Wait, princess!  Don't run!" I.stopped. He caught up.with me.

"Princess, you are in great danger!! He said trying to catch his breath.

"Wait you must have the wrong person, I'm not a princess".  He shook jus head. "You do not know yet. But you are." He said with a serious tone. He looked around and motioned me to the tree. I obeyed.

He sighed. "Rosalind. Correct?" I nodded. "You have come to.the point when your gonna experience weird things in your life. You've come the age when you gain your-"

"Whoa.  Hold up I don't even know you. How in the hell am I a princess?  Who are you? Where did you come from?" I said with an eager tone. He dug in this bag and took out a book. A thick black book with a blue stone placed in the middle. He handed it to me and I took it. "What is this?"

"This book will answer all your questions.  Do not bring it anywhere your not. This book will guide you till I bring somebody for you." He said looking around nervously. Suddenly he started to blend in with the fog. I gasped at the sight. I turned to.run, but instead found a raven with violet eyes flapped his wings with rage.

I woke up.startled and looked down seeing the book.in my lap.
"I'm still dreaming." I said to myself.
"This can not be real." I said feeling the cover of the book. The coldness of it made a chill run down my back.

I hurried out of bed with the book hidden underneath the covers. I opened the door silently and heard dad's snoring, so they were in bed now. Went back my bed to find the book glowing. It looked like a light shining through it. Knowing it was already weird enough ,but my curiosity was burning inside so badly that I had to open it.

The first page was written in different signatures of men I didn't know.
