It should be noted that this story begins with a warning. When the Fae come to help, it's best to pay close attention to what they say. It may save you some grief later on. Unfortunately, humans tend to miss key elements of important conversations.
Once upon a time, there was a kingdom. With this kingdom, there came a royal family. Well, not so much of a family as a royal couple. The King and Queen were recently married and, as such, were looking to add to their numbers.
Unfortunately for the Queen, she was incapable of having children. Or so the physician told her after 3 years of constant failures on her part to produce an heir to the thrown.
So what do humans do when they feel they have nowhere else to turn? They ask a high power, hoping to have their request heard and granted.
It must be nice to have representatives of the Seelie Court right outside the kingdom, and in the perfect location to hear a poor woman's cries.
