I sat intently watching the movie, I looked over towards Kesley to see her eyes fixated on the screen, she had a slight worried look on her face, Kesley had anxiety, she's had it for a while but it has a pretty big impact on her. "Hey, what's bothering you" I asked turning towards her so she knows that I have her full attention.

"It's nothing" she mumbles. I obviously knew she wasn't telling the truth. "Kes, no secrets, remember?" I said looking into her ocean eyes. "Chad broke up with me" she let out. "I saw him with some other girl at the bowling alley when we went a few weeks ago, so I questioned him, and he said it was something that his parents had set up, not even considering if it would hurt me or not"  Kesley said, looking down. I didn't know what else to do, so I just hugged her tightly.

I could feel her tears dripping onto my skin. "It's okay, it's okay, I'm here" I said. I knew Chads parents were strict, but to completely make their son cheat on such a beautiful amazing girl like Kesley. Wait, I can't be thinking this way, Kesley is my best friend, I can't be thinking about her like that.

"Why don't we put the movie back on and chill, you are worth more than worth it Kesley, don't let anyone tell you otherwise." I said sort of surprising myself. Kesley is just a friend! I can't keep having these thought about her, it's unfair to her and me.

"Okay, your a great friend" she said before putting her head on my shoulder. That one stung. Why did it sting. We are just friends. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I continued to watch the movie, completely not engaging in it at all. I was more focused on how Kesley still had her head on my shoulder, there was a pillow right beside her, why did she need my shoulder? Not that I was complaining. But should I be complaining? So many questions are going through my head.

My shoulder felt heavier, I looked over to see Kesley with her eyes calmly shut. This was something that happened often, we always hugged each other, finally something normal that we do often.

A couple hours pass and my eyes start to feel heavy and I slowly fall asleep and my mind falls to dream land.

I woke up to the feeling of fingers running through my hair, the feeling was calming and sweet. My eyes slowly opened to see Kesley looking at me with a smile. "Well good morning sleepy head" she said sweetly. "I was tired" I said, my cheeks burning hot. "I know you were, you were tired" she said staring ahead.

My head turned as I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. "Hey Kesley" my mom said walking down the rest of the stairs , something looked suspicious. "Your mom just called saying your dad has been diagnosed with the virus, so your going to have to stay here until he gets better, which is probably going to be a few weeks." My mom said. I looked over at Kesley, her eyes filled with stress and worry. Kesley just nodded.

My mom sympathetically smiles and walks back upstairs. Kesley starts breathing heavily. This has happened before, she's having a panic attack. I've never had them before, but Ive witnessed them before so I knew what to do.

"Here, take off your sweater, I don't want you to overheat" I said helping her remove her hoodie. I threw her hoodie to the side and cupped her cheeks with my hands making her look at me, "Kes, count down from ten with me, okay?" I asked and she nodded. "Ready, one" I waited for her to copy. "Two" she said shakily.

We continued counting until her breathing finally slowed down. "Everything is going to be okay, I promise " I said hugging her. "Here, come with me" I said taking her hand. I brought her to the bathroom so I could wipe her tears with better lighting. Tears were still flowing out of her eyelids, but by the time we made it to the bathroom, all that was left was a sad Kesley and red puffy eyes.

"Thank you" she mumbled quietly. "Kesley, you don't need to thank me, your my best friend, I wasn't just going to leave you like that" I said hugging her again. Kelsey sat in the bathroom counter and leaned her head back on the mirror. "At least I don't have to be woken up by my siblings" she laughed.

I smiled brightly at her smile. She always made me happy. I wasn't disappointed by the fact that Kesley would have to stay with us for a whole month.
