She walked through a forest of foreign trees
New people towered above her
She felt their eyes burning through her back
Judging everything
She heard someone whisper quietly
A laugh, a giggle, what was so funny?
Was there something in her teeth?
Something she couldn't see?
She almost felt too conscious to breathe
She wished she could hide in her sleeves
She wanted to confront them
But that would make a scene
And she wasn't exactly big news
Just the average teen
Not the gossip on the magazines
But she still had seeds of worry
Growing into trees
She turned around
What if they were looking at me?
But they weren't looking at me at all
Because to them, I didn't matter at all
Just the new one at school
The egotistical fool
Why does insignificance hurt more?
I guess insecurity is the core
Everyone's biggest flaw
